Overview

A regional university team competition using advocacy, simulation and role-play exercises to examine international humanitarian law and related international-law issues.

Complete competition details

The University of Buenos Aires Faculty of Law and the ICRC regional delegation are organizing the fifth regional advocacy and simulation competition. Teams of three undergraduate students from universities in the region participate in simulations built around a fictional armed-conflict case. The competition will take place at the UBA Faculty of Law from December 3 to 5, 2026. Registration closes September 30, 2026 at 23:59 Argentina time. The official team fee is ARS 65,000; teams needing financial assistance may request consideration through the registration form, subject to available funds.

Eligibility requirements

Teams must consist of three undergraduate students from universities in the region. The organizers invite students of law, political science, international relations and related disciplines.

Tips for this competition

Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.

  1. Study the scoring criteria and previous winners before deciding what evidence, prototype, essay, research or portfolio will best support the entry.
  2. Confirm country, age, team, education and organization restrictions and whether one person may enter multiple submissions.
  3. Follow the required file format, word/time limits and naming rules exactly; technical non-compliance can disqualify a strong entry.
  4. Keep proof of submission and submit before the deadline rather than relying on the final hour.

Verification notes
