Artisan Partners is seeking a Valuation Fund Accountant to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The position provides an opportunity for an experienced financial services professional to take meaningful ownership of valuation and broader vehicle administration responsibilities. The role has a particular emphasis on daily valuation activities, including security pricing, fair value analysis and interaction with external pricing sources, while also supporting financial reporting, treasury and other fund administration activities. Responsibilities are diverse and require the ability to independently identify, research and resolve issues while contributing to the oversight responsibilities of the team and working collaboratively across the firm. Responsibilities The candidate is expected to: Perform daily valuation activities, including research and validation of security prices, review and challenge of pricing vendor information, and independent resolution and escalation of pricing exceptions Support the review of complex and fair valued investments, including analysis of valuation inputs, methodologies, supporting documentation and other relevant market information Perform valuation-related monitoring and analysis, including fair value leveling, liquidity reviews, price testing and identification of securities requiring additional review or escalation Interact with external service providers, including pricing vendors, fund administrators and custodians, and support ongoing oversight of their services Review net asset value calculations and other information prepared by external fund administrators, fund accountants and custodians as part of the team’s oversight process Review financial and regulatory reports, including reconciliation of financial information to supporting ledgers and analytical review of information contained in the reports Support treasury and fund administration activities, including cash and liquidity-related activities, expense management, periodic review of expense budgets and expense payments Resolve inquiries from external auditors during annual audit processes and coordinate with external auditors and administrators as needed Maintain workflow and valuation documentation, identify opportunities to strengthen team processes and controls, interact with teams across the firm including senior management, and prepare and review quarterly board materials Qualifications The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail and an interest in developing deeper valuation expertise. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess: Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance with demonstrated academic achievement 3–5 years of experience within the financial services industry, with demonstrated experience in security pricing and valuation, such as pricing vendor analysis, price validation, pricing exceptions, or fair value processes Experience working with large data sets and data platforms (e.g., Snowflake), with the ability to query, analyze, and validate data for accuracy and completeness Proactive approach to work with a demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities effectively, exercise sound judgment and work independently Strong work ethic and sense of ownership, with demonstrated ability to take the lead on assigned responsibilities and drive issues through resolution Strong interpersonal and communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Privacy Notice for California Applicants Artisan Partners Limited Partnership is an equal opportunity employer.
