Full job description

Veterinary Nurse (RVN) - Small Animal

All Care Veterinary Centre, Walkinstown, Co. Dublin

Full-time, Fixed-Term Contract (6 Months Maternity Leave Cover)

€36,500 - €37,500 per annum, depending on experience

Join a Friendly and Established Practice

All Care Veterinary Centre is looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our dedicated team on a six-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a long-established, community-focused small animal practice where patient care and client service are at the heart of everything we do. We are proud of the supportive and welcoming culture we have built and are seeking a nurse who shares our commitment to delivering exceptional standards of care.

The successful candidate will be a confident and capable RVN with strong clinical nursing skills, excellent communication abilities, and the confidence to work independently while contributing positively to the wider team. This role is not suitable for a new graduate, as previous nursing experience is required.

The Role

This is a varied and rewarding position offering exposure to all areas of first-opinion small animal practice. The successful candidate will be involved in a combination of surgical nursing, medical nursing and administrative responsibilities, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.

You will be responsible for providing high-quality inpatient care, supporting surgical procedures, monitoring anaesthesia, managing patient admissions and discharges, assisting with consultations, and maintaining accurate clinical records. As part of the role, you will also take sole responsibility for patient care when required, making clinical confidence and strong organisational skills essential.

We are looking for a nurse who demonstrates initiative, works well under pressure, and is comfortable managing both medical and surgical cases. A proactive approach, excellent attention to detail, and a genuine passion for animal welfare are key qualities for success in this role.

Working Pattern

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week on a rotating schedule between Monday and Saturday.

Weekday shifts vary between 8:00am and 7:00pm, depending on the rota. The role also includes participation in a Saturday rota, with Saturdays worked on a one-in-two basis from 8:00am to 3:00pm.

There are no Sunday shifts, no Bank Holiday commitments, and no out-of-hours requirements, providing a good balance between professional and personal time.

Our Practice

All Care Veterinary Centre is a modern, well-established small animal practice located in Walkinstown, South Dublin. Situated in a pleasant residential area with convenient access to both the M50 and N7, we have built a strong reputation within the local community for providing high-quality veterinary care alongside excellent customer service.

Our practice combines modern facilities with a compassionate and personalised approach, ensuring every patient receives the highest standard of care. We believe in building lasting relationships with both our clients and their pets and take pride in providing a welcoming and supportive environment.

You will be joining a friendly and hardworking team consisting of three Veterinary Surgeons, four Veterinary Nurses, a Student Veterinary Nurse, a Receptionist and a Practice Manager. We work closely together, supporting one another to achieve the best possible outcomes for our patients and clients.
