Vice President - Data Platform and Engineering
Abu Dhabi, UAE UAE Nationals Only
For our client, a leading organization in Abu Dhabi, we are seeking a Vice President - Data Platform and Engineering to oversee enterprise applications and database environments, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and system availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the implementation, configuration, and administration of applications and databases (Oracle & SQL Server).
- Plan and optimize IT infrastructure capacity including servers and database performance.
- Monitor database performance and manage backup, restoration, RAC, and clustering with the infrastructure team.
- Install patches, manage system changes, and ensure data integrity and system availability.
- Troubleshoot database and application issues and resolve incidents within SLAs.
- Liaise with third-party vendors for OS and server management.
- Maintain application and database lifecycle, documentation, and licensing.
- Support internal teams and coordinate security and data recovery activities.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience as an Oracle Applications DBA working with Oracle technologies, RAC, and DMZ.
- 2+ years of managerial experience.
- Experience managing Oracle E-Business Suite and enterprise deployments.
- Knowledge of application integrations and enterprise application environments.
- Experience in real estate or retail sectors is preferred.
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.
- Must be an Emirati
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
- Oracle Database certification preferred.
