Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Vice President, Global Direct Sales based in Canada. This executive leadership role is responsible for shaping and driving a global direct-sales organization across regions, territories, and customer segments. You will own the direct-sales operating model, including customer acquisition, strategic accounts, retention, expansion revenue, quota performance, and seller productivity. The role combines long-term commercial strategy with rigorous day-to-day execution around pipeline, forecasting, revenue, and sales effectiveness. You will lead regional sales leaders and teams across multiple geographies, cultures, and time zones while building a collaborative, performance-oriented organization. Close partnership with Finance, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, Sales Operations, and Business Development will be essential to aligning go-to-market priorities. The position offers significant scope to scale sales capabilities, strengthen operating discipline, and deliver measurable global growth.

Lead the global direct-sales organization to expand existing accounts, acquire new customers, and deliver annual, quarterly, and monthly commercial targets. Own direct-sales bookings, ARR, quota attainment, pipeline coverage, forecast accuracy, win rates, sales cycle performance, and margin contribution. Establish a disciplined global sales operating cadence covering pipeline reviews, forecasting, business reviews, CRM data quality, opportunity inspection, deal-risk management, and sales-stage governance. Develop short- and long-term direct-sales strategies across regions, territories, customer segments, coverage models, and account priorities. Translate global strategy into regional execution plans, measurable targets, structured forecasts, and resource requirements. Lead territory design, account segmentation, quota allocation, sales capacity planning, hiring plans, onboarding standards, coaching programs, and succession planning. Partner with Finance, Sales Operations, Business Development, and executive leadership on pricing, discount governance, compensation plans, budgeting, forecasting, and sales incentives. Improve sales productivity and effectiveness through scalable sales plans, enablement programs, training priorities, career development, and standardized processes. Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Customer Success, Finance, Sales Operations, Business Development, and Technical Sales to support pipeline generation, product launches, retention, expansion, and customer feedback. Build a collaborative, accountable, and performance-oriented culture through clear expectations, coaching, development, communication, and continuous improvement. Lead and support regional sales leaders across multiple geographies and time zones while balancing global consistency with local market needs. Provide executive leadership with clear reports and insights covering budgets, pipeline, forecasts, revenue, productivity, risks, opportunities, and customer performance. Maintain knowledge of direct-sales best practices, market dynamics, industry trends, applicable regulations, and internal policies to support informed and compliant decision-making. Requirements: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Sales, Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred. 15+ years of progressive B2B direct-sales leadership experience, including 7+ years managing global customer-facing sales teams and regional sales leaders. Proven ownership of revenue or ARR targets, quota performance, CRM discipline, forecasting, pipeline management, and structured sales operating cadences. Demonstrated success scaling high-performing direct-sales organizations within technical B2B, manufacturing software, CAM, or a related environment. Significant experience selling complex CapEx, subscription, and services offerings ranging from approximately $20K to $5M across software, hardware, or professional services. Strong track record managing performance through measurable KPIs, including revenue versus plan, quota attainment, pipeline coverage, forecast accuracy, win rate, average deal size, sales cycle duration, representative ramp time, retention, expansion, and CRM hygiene. Experience leading direct-sales teams through account ownership, strategic account planning, customer acquisition, expansion opportunities, and disciplined opportunity management. Demonstrated ability to improve seller productivity and align technical sales resources with customer needs. Strong leadership, mentoring, relationship-building, analytical, problem-solving, and risk-assessment capabilities. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to plan, budget, prioritize, and manage resources effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to international audiences. Strong executive presence and ability to build trusted relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and drive strategic objectives and projects through completion. Technical sales, manufacturing software, CAM, or related industry experience is strongly preferred. Benefits: Executive-level opportunity to lead a global direct-sales organization across multiple regions and markets. Opportunity to shape sales strategy, operating models, territory design, customer segmentation, and commercial execution at global scale. Exposure to complex B2B software, hardware, subscription, and professional services sales. Cross-functional collaboration with senior leaders across Sales, Finance, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, Sales Operations, Business Development, and Technical Sales. Opportunity to develop and scale regional sales leadership capabilities and high-performing commercial teams. Global working environment spanning multiple geographies, cultures, and time zones. Opportunity to contribute to customer acquisition, retention, expansion, and long-term commercial growth. Leadership role with significant influence over sales productivity, forecasting discipline, pipeline management, and revenue performance. Candidates may be considered from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, or Portugal.
