Vilnius University is accepting registrations from its students for a three-month Smart Internship that uses interdisciplinary teams to solve real challenges from public institutions and businesses.

The Autumn 2026/27 Smart Internship forms teams of 5–7 students, supported by a university supervisor and host-organization mentor, and uses Design Thinking to work on a selected challenge. Current hosts include the Office of the Seimas, State Consumer Rights Protection Authority, Bondea, the Chamber of Insurance Brokers and Go Vilnius. International VU students can choose the English-language Go Vilnius and Chamber of Insurance Brokers challenges. Registration and introductory interviews run through 20 September; selected teams are formed 21–24 September, Design Thinking training is on 25 September, and the internship runs 28 September–11 December 2026.
Eligibility requirements
Open to all Vilnius University students regardless of study programme, study cycle or year. Students register individually and selected candidates proceed to an online group introductory interview. Successful participants sign a tripartite internship agreement.
