Virtual Property Claims Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Virtual Property Claims Specialist based in the United States. This remote role is responsible for delivering comprehensive property claims support across multiple regions and claim types. You will investigate losses, evaluate damage, determine coverage, and negotiate accurate settlements within established authority. The position covers both property and inland marine claims, including losses with significant financial exposure. You will also contribute to catastrophe response efforts, helping triage and resolve claims during high-volume events. The role combines technical claims expertise, customer service, vendor coordination, and sound judgment. You will work within established legal, regulatory, and performance standards while managing claims from initial contact through resolution. Handle assigned property and inland marine claims across multiple regions and varying levels of complexity. Investigate claims thoroughly, gather and evaluate supporting documentation, and determine appropriate courses of action. Assess property damage and prepare or review estimates using computer-based damage estimating tools. Evaluate coverage, establish appropriate reserves, negotiate settlements, and resolve claims within delegated authority and established standards. Manage property losses of varying exposures, including occasional claims exceeding $100,000 in aggregate value. Handle typical Business Income claims and assess related loss information as required. Select, deploy, and manage appropriate experts, contractors, vendors, and other resources supporting claim resolution. Support catastrophe response activities, including initial customer contacts, claim triage, assigned catastrophe claims, and regional catastrophe resolution efforts. Respond appropriately to legal, regulatory, appeal, and other formal claim-related inquiries or requests. Maintain accurate claim documentation and ensure all activities comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and company requirements. Provide professional, timely, and effective claims service throughout the claim lifecycle. Requirements: Approximately 5 years of claims experience is preferred, with strong knowledge of property claims. Thorough understanding of Commercial and Personal Lines property coverages. Experience evaluating property damage and working with computer-based damage estimating systems. Familiarity with property and inland marine claims and, preferably, Business Income losses. Strong ability to investigate claims, analyze coverage and damage information, negotiate settlements, and make sound decisions within established authority. Knowledge of standard business and claims-specific software applications, with efficient and productive keyboarding skills. Strong communication, organization, analytical, negotiation, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently while managing multiple claims, priorities, and deadlines. Ability to work varying shifts based on business and catastrophe response requirements. Valid state-issued driver's license in good standing and ability to drive an automobile. College degree preferred. Ability to perform all responsibilities in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
