Overview
An ongoing WCPFC Secretariat pathway for short-term internships or attachments in Pohnpei, with placements considered subject to staff availability and a minimum four-week stay.
Complete internship details
Applicants propose a short project relevant to the Commission’s work and, if accepted, complete the project during a placement at the Secretariat in Pohnpei and submit a report before finishing. Applications should reach the Secretariat at least 90 days before the proposed placement. WCPFC states that it does not fund the internship or attachment; participants must finance travel and living costs and carry adequate health, medical and accident insurance. The Secretariat can provide limited FSM visa guidance, help research accommodation options, and provide work facilities and limited internet access.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must submit a written project proposal endorsed by their national WCPFC CCM Commissioner or official contact. The placement is subject to Secretariat staff availability. Participants must be able to support their own travel and stay, provide adequate insurance coverage, and accept the Secretariat’s confidentiality and waiver requirements.
