Workday Financials Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Workday Financials Analyst based in United States. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert for Finance-facing Workday functionality, supporting configuration, administration, and continuous improvement of Workday Financials. You will partner closely with Finance and Accounting stakeholders to translate business needs into effective system solutions and optimized financial processes. The position combines hands-on Workday configuration with reporting, analytics, system controls, and user support. You will help maintain data integrity, strengthen financial controls, and support audit and period-end close activities. The role also contributes to Workday releases, system projects, integrations, and process redesign initiatives. Configure, administer, monitor, and support Workday Financials modules, including Financial Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Expense Management, Procurement, and/or Projects, while resolving Finance-related support tickets. Design, build, and maintain financial business processes, approval workflows, condition rules, and security configurations across production and sandbox tenants. Support bi-annual Workday release cycles by reviewing new functionality, coordinating testing, assessing impacts, and communicating relevant changes to Finance stakeholders. Serve as the primary point of contact for Finance and Accounting teams regarding Workday questions, system issues, enhancement requests, and business process requirements. Translate Finance requirements into Workday configuration solutions that maintain appropriate controls, security, and audit trails, and coordinate user acceptance testing with Finance partners. Develop and deliver end-user training and documentation covering Workday Financials functionality, processes, and system changes. Build and maintain Workday financial reports, dashboards, and composite reports supporting operational needs and financial decision-making, including reporting on GL activity, cost center performance, AP aging, expense trends, and other financial KPIs. Ensure financial data integrity and provide Workday support for period-end close activities. Maintain financial system controls in alignment with internal audit and applicable SOX requirements, support internal and external audit requests, and manage segregation of duties across Workday financial security domains. Lead or support Workday Financials initiatives, including new module deployments, process redesigns, integrations, and other system projects. Identify opportunities to improve Finance processes through better use of Workday functionality and document configuration decisions, business process designs, and system changes. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business, or a related field. 4+ years of hands-on Workday Financials configuration experience. Proficiency in Financial Accounting and at least two additional areas such as Accounts Payable, Expense Management, Procurement, Accounts Receivable, or Projects. Experience building Workday financial reports and supporting period-end close processes. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial business processes, controls, and how these processes are supported within Workday. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex configuration issues and deliver accurate solutions. Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to serve as a trusted advisor to Finance and Accounting teams at different levels. Strong controls orientation, including knowledge of audit requirements, segregation of duties, system security, and compliance considerations. Ability to stay current with Workday Financials releases and proactively identify opportunities for system and process improvements. Workday Pro certification in Financials or a related area is preferred. Experience supporting Workday in a SOX-compliant environment is preferred. Familiarity with Workday EIBs and financial data integrations is preferred. Experience with Workday Prism Analytics or Adaptive Planning is a plus.
