Overview
The World Bank, Korea's Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and the National Information Society Agency are inviting government institutions from low- and middle-income countries to propose public-sector AI initiatives for a fully funded five-day GovTech bootcamp in Korea.
Complete competition details
Selected countries will send a two-person team to the bootcamp scheduled for 7-11 December 2026. The programme combines exposure to Korea's public AI systems, hands-on technical workshops and implementation-roadmap development. International travel and accommodation are covered for selected participants, and up to three participating teams may later receive limited follow-up technical support based on their final roadmap and institutional readiness.
Eligibility requirements
Applications must be submitted by a government institution in a World Bank low- or middle-income country. The institution should be developing, piloting or deploying an AI-enabled public-sector initiative. Each proposal must nominate a policy leader with decision-making authority and a technical practitioner directly involved in implementation. Proposals must be submitted in English and demonstrate institutional backing, public value, technical feasibility, data readiness and governance arrangements.
Tips for this competition
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Study the scoring criteria and previous winners before deciding what evidence, prototype, essay, research or portfolio will best support the entry.
- Confirm country, age, team, education and organization restrictions and whether one person may enter multiple submissions.
- Follow the required file format, word/time limits and naming rules exactly; technical non-compliance can disqualify a strong entry.
- Keep proof of submission and submit before the deadline rather than relying on the final hour.
