Overview
Current September 2027 intake for international and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan candidates in the interdisciplinary Master’s Program in China Studies, with applications due 30 November 2026.
Complete fellowship details
Yenching Academy states that all admitted scholars receive a fellowship for the first academic year covering tuition, accommodation, a monthly stipend, one round-trip travel fare, basic medical insurance and research/field-study expenses. The China Studies master’s programme is two years; students in good academic standing who remain in Beijing may apply for second-year fellowship support under current rules.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants should hold at least a bachelor’s degree in any field or be on track to graduate by 31 August 2027, have an outstanding academic record, a strong interest in interdisciplinary China Studies, extracurricular/community/leadership achievement and English proficiency. International applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport. Students and alumni of Yenching Partner Universities must follow their home university’s internal pre-selection process before submitting to Yenching. HMT applicants have additional Peking University application requirements.
Tips for this fellowship
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
- Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
- Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
- Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
Verification notes
The current Yenching Academy homepage states applications for the September 2027 intake are open to international candidates and applicants from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and gives a 30 November 2026 deadline. The current admissions page supplies 2027 eligibility, application materials and fellowship benefits but still contains stale lower-page 2026-status text; the newer top-level 2027 notice controls current status/deadline. No closing clock time is stated, so only deadline_date is stored.
Job and Scholarship is the discovery and verification layer. Confirm eligibility, dates, salary/funding and application instructions on the original source before submitting anything.
