We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Gatehouse Vets on a full-time basis.

Gatehouse Veterinary Group is a well-established small animal practice with four sites across West Yorkshire: Mirfield, Haworth, Bingley and Allerton. You would be mainly working at Allerton and Bingley sites. Our commitment to clinical excellence has been recognised through the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme, where we have achieved Outstanding Awards in multiple categories. We are also a Silver Standard ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic and hold Silver Rabbit Friendly Status, reflecting our dedication to providing exceptional care for all our patients.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern

• 40 hours per week
• Working Monday to Friday on a rota basis
• 1 in 4 Saturday mornings
• No out of hours duties
• We are open to discussing part-time and flexible working options

General Responsibilities

• Nurse consultations
• Inpatient care
• Theatre nursing
• Anaesthesia monitoring
• Schedule 3 procedures
• Laboratory work
• Client education and preventative healthcare

If you have a passion for teaching, there is also the opportunity to become a Clinical Coach, supporting and mentoring student veterinary nurses.

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
• Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
• A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
