Find your next challenge

This position offers the best of both worlds, combining branch practice with hospital-based work. You'll typically spend two days each week in one of our branch practices, building lasting relationships with clients and following your own cases through, alongside two days at our busy hospital where you'll see more advanced medical, surgical and emergency cases.

The variety means no two weeks look the same. One day you could be carrying out routine surgery and consultations in branch practice, the next managing hospitalised patients, emergency admissions and more complex case work-ups with support from an experienced multidisciplinary team.

Working pattern

• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Usually worked across four weekdays between 7:45am and 7pm
• 1 in 12 weekend day rota
• 1 in 12 block of night duties, with generous stand-down time afterwards

What you'll be stepping into

Inglis Vets has grown into one of the largest veterinary teams in Scotland, with a busy central hospital supported by eight branch practices across Fife and Central Scotland.

You'll be joining a team of around 100 colleagues, including 30 Veterinary Surgeons, 40 RVNs and Animal Care Assistants, alongside an experienced Client Care team. Collaboration is at the centre of how the practice works, with regular case discussions, excellent support from senior clinicians and plenty of opportunities to learn from colleagues with advanced qualifications.

The hospital is exceptionally well equipped and supports a diverse caseload, including emergency and critical care through our own in-house Out of Hours service. You'll also have access to visiting specialists in Orthopaedics, Dermatology and Ophthalmology, while our certificate holders cover disciplines including Surgery, Cardiology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology and Acupuncture.

Professional development is actively encouraged, whether that's working towards a certificate, developing a clinical interest or simply gaining confidence with more advanced cases. As a recognised veterinary training centre, education and mentoring are embedded into everyday practice.
