With backing from our investors, including Blackstone, this is just the beginning… Come join the A-Team at AirTrunk, where the cloud meets the ground.   A Snapshot As a Senior Director in the Data Strategy & Market Intelligence team, you will provide leadership & guidance for the data strategy manager and data analysts responsible for building and maintaining Air Trunk's competitive intelligence datasets across APAC and the Middle East. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of competitor, market, and site data — from collection, validation, and synthesis into decision-ready outputs for our Air Trunk Executive Team stakeholders. The Market Intelligence team operates strategically across three pillars: Data Governance & GIS: “Is our data accurate and reliable?” (The Foundation) Market Intelligence & Strategy: “Where is the demand going next?” (The Opportunity) ← Your Primary Focus Policy & Infrastructure: “What are the bottlenecks to building there?” (The Risk) Key Objectives   Maintain an established, granular, and nuanced database of various market data points, including but not limited to competitor builds, land timelines, power procurement processes. The output from this database can be customized to business needs, team or purpose dependent. Anticipate Competitor Expansion & Capacity Deployment. Provide early visibility into competitor build pipelines, land acquisition activity, and capacity expansion strategies to proactively manage competitive pressure as an enabler for our continued metro level growth.  Benchmark Air Trunk’s Competitive Positioning Across Markets. Proactive analysis of infrastructure scale, density, speed-to-market, and geographic reach to inform strategic prioritization and investment decisions. Consider Air Trunk’s inventory, along with the regional differences in barriers-to-entry, infrastructural governance, and risk appetite. Understand Competitor Technology & Infrastructure Roadmaps. Track adoption of advanced cooling, AI infrastructure, and energy architecture to guide our internal technology strategy. Evaluate Regulatory & Sustainability Advantages of Competitors. Identify regulatory alignment and/or any ESG-driven advantages to improve our compliance readiness and market credibility. Track Data Centre energy movements, i.e. JVs between developers, Hyperscale customers and solar farms/renewable energy providers. Strengthen Hyperscale & Cloud Go-To-Market Alignment. Leverage insight into Hyperscale deployment dynamics to refine our commercial strategy and capacity planning. Accelerate Tactical Decision-Making & Reduce Execution Risk. Use real-time competitor intelligence to accelerate our internal decision cycles and reduce risk in land, power, and permitting decisions. Identify Strategic Differentiation & White Space Opportunities. Reveal under-served markets, sustainability-led niches, and technology gaps to drive long-term competitive advantage.   Your Day to Day Model, Coach, Care: Provide leadership & guidance for our Data Strategy Team. Competitive Intelligence: Own Air Trunk’s APAC & Middle East competitor tracker as the single source of truth. Lead the team to collate and structure data on competitor footprints, expansion patterns, capacity utilisation, and market positioning. Data Collation & Quality: Assess data gaps, consolidate structured and unstructured sources (broker reports, news, government filings, internal notes), in order to meet Air Trunk’s Source of Truth standards. Market & Site Data Synthesis: Translate complex qualitative and quantitative datasets into structured formats, dashboards, and visual summaries that provide the Air Trunk Exec team with a clear view of market trends, customer movement, and emerging opportunities. AI-Driven Data Solutions: Actively explore and implement AI-powered workflows (Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, etc.) to automate data ingestion, streamline data validation, and optimise retrieval of proprietary information. Process Automation: Automate repetitive data tasks, freeing you and your team to focus on strategic analysis, which will in turn enable effective decision-making. Cross-Functional Enablement: Work with commercial, energy, land acquisition, development, and government affairs teams to ensure data quality standards are met and outputs are relevant for our Air Trunk business needs. Risk & Environmental Data: Analyse environmental risk data (seismic activity, water scarcity, climate factors) to support market viability assessments. Requirements Degree or Diploma in Geography, Data Analysis, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Real Estate or relevant field. 5-10 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, consulting and data centre infrastructure delivery across the APAC & Middle East regions. Data Management Obsession: Proven ability in data validation, and analysis. You understand data quality is non-negotiable for strategic decision-making. AI & Productivity Tools: High comfort level with AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, etc.) and a proactive mindset toward using AI to improve data efficiency. Excel & Visualisation: Proficiency in Excel for data manipulation and Power BI (or similar) for creating dashboards that tell a clear story. Communication: Excellent presentation skills to communicate data findings to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. Ability to translate messy data into clear narratives. Preferred Skillsets Geospatial expertise: Working knowledge of ArcGIS Pro or similar GIS platforms; comfort with shapefiles, KMZs, and spatial data analysis. Experience with SQL databases or data warehousing. Background in Data Centre market research, competitive intelligence, consulting and/or business development. Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar advanced analytics tools.
