Responsibilities & complete job details

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior SEO/GEO Specialist based in the United States. This role offers an exciting opportunity to strengthen organic visibility and digital discoverability for a global cybersecurity software business. As a Senior SEO/GEO Specialist, you will develop and implement strategies that improve search performance, attract qualified traffic, and enhance the user experience across a multilingual website. You will combine technical SEO expertise, content optimization, and data-driven analysis to identify growth opportunities across traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered search experiences. Working closely with development, marketing, and content teams, you will help resolve technical challenges and ensure website content aligns with user intent and business goals. This fully remote position is ideal for an analytical, detail-oriented professional who enjoys working across technical and strategic initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Candidates based in the Chicago metropolitan area may have the option to work a hybrid schedule.

Develop and execute SEO strategies to increase organic visibility, improve website performance, and drive qualified traffic. Conduct technical SEO audits and collaborate with development teams to address site architecture, crawlability, indexation, redirects, canonicalization, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, JavaScript rendering, duplicate content, and structured data. Monitor and improve Core Web Vitals, page speed, mobile usability, and overall website health. Recommend improvements to website structure, URL strategies, taxonomy, navigation, and internal linking to strengthen search performance and usability. Conduct keyword research, search intent analysis, competitive research, and search engine results page (SERP) analysis to inform content and optimization strategies. Develop SEO content briefs and actionable recommendations for blogs, product pages, landing pages, glossary pages, and other website content. Review and optimize existing content to improve relevance, rankings, user experience, and conversion potential. Implement or coordinate on-page SEO improvements, including title tags, meta descriptions, headings, internal links, image alt text, schema markup, and content structure. Identify and implement opportunities to improve brand discoverability across traditional search engines, AI-powered search platforms, and large language model (LLM)-generated results. Use SEO platforms and analytics tools to monitor rankings, organic traffic, conversions, technical trends, and overall performance, translating findings into actionable recommendations. Support international and multilingual SEO initiatives, including hreflang implementation, localized content, regional URL structures, and market-specific requirements. Stay informed about search engine algorithm updates, technical SEO developments, structured data standards, content trends, and emerging GEO best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize SEO initiatives, communicate findings, and align optimization efforts with broader marketing objectives. Requirements: At least five years of professional SEO experience, including hands-on technical SEO expertise. Strong understanding of crawling, rendering, indexation, canonicalization, redirects, structured data, XML sitemaps, and internal linking. Demonstrated experience creating SEO content briefs informed by keyword research, search intent, competitive analysis, and business objectives. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret performance data, identify technical issues, and uncover opportunities for improvement. Familiarity with SEO and analytics tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Semrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, or comparable platforms. Experience using AI-search or GEO tools, or monitoring brand visibility in AI-generated search results. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams. Ability to manage projects independently while working collaboratively across marketing, content, and development functions. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and adaptability in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Experience with enterprise, SaaS, cybersecurity, or B2B websites is preferred. Familiarity with international SEO, multilingual websites, hreflang, and localized content strategies is an advantage. Experience with SEO automation, reporting, data analysis, schema markup, entity optimization, and content structuring is preferred. Experience working with WordPress or another enterprise content management system (CMS) is a plus. Must be based in an eligible United States location. The role is fully remote, with a hybrid option available for candidates in the Chicago metropolitan area. Benefits: Remote work flexibility: 100% remote for eligible US locations, with a hybrid work option for candidates in the Chicago metropolitan area. Medical coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance, including domestic partnerships. Life insurance: Employer-paid life insurance, with supplemental life insurance options for employees, spouses, and children. Disability coverage: Voluntary short-term and long-term disability insurance. Retirement savings: Traditional and Roth 401(k) options. Paid time off: A generous PTO plan that recognizes employee commitment and seniority, including paid bereavement and jury duty leave. Annual bonuses: Above-market annual bonus opportunities.
