Responsibilities & complete job details

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Operations Advisor based in the United States. The Business Operations Advisor will serve as a trusted strategic partner to optometric practices and member businesses, helping them improve financial performance, operational efficiency, and long-term growth. This role combines business consulting, financial analysis, and industry expertise to assess practice performance and identify opportunities for increased profitability. You will analyze profit and loss statements, evaluate key performance indicators, and benchmark results against industry standards to deliver actionable recommendations. Working closely with specialized advisors and internal teams, you will connect businesses with the right resources to address their specific challenges. You will also contribute to member education through training sessions, webinars, and practical business resources. This fully remote opportunity is ideal for an analytical, solutions-oriented professional who enjoys building relationships, influencing business decisions, and making a measurable impact on the success of eye care practices.

Business performance assessment: Conduct initial assessments of member businesses and optometric practices, reviewing profit and loss statements to evaluate financial health, identify performance gaps, and uncover opportunities for growth and profitability. Financial and operational analysis: Analyze key financial and operational metrics, identify trends and inefficiencies, and develop data-driven insights to support informed business decisions and improved practice performance. Strategic business consulting: Leverage broad expertise in practice management, optical operations, staffing, marketing, and revenue cycle management to provide high-level guidance and recommend targeted improvement strategies. Reporting and benchmarking: Prepare clear dashboards, reports, and performance summaries that highlight critical business indicators and compare practice results against relevant industry benchmarks. Opportunity identification and recommendations: Recognize opportunities to improve workflows, reduce operating costs, optimize resources, and increase revenue. Develop practical recommendations tailored to the needs of individual practices and business units. Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with specialized advisors and internal teams to facilitate seamless referrals, coordinate additional support, and ensure continuity of service for members requiring expertise in specific business areas. Member engagement and relationship management: Serve as a primary point of contact for businesses seeking operational guidance, actively listen to their needs, provide relevant resources, and deliver actionable feedback that supports satisfaction, engagement, and long-term retention. Education and knowledge sharing: Develop and deliver training sessions, facilitate webinars, and create educational content on general business management and operational improvement topics. Continuous improvement: Research emerging business needs, identify recurring challenges, and contribute insights and recommendations that strengthen service delivery and enhance the overall member experience. Requirements: A bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. At least 6 years of experience in business operations , including substantial exposure to optometric practices and the eye care industry. Comprehensive understanding of optometric practice operations, including practice management, staffing, optical business processes, and financial performance. Demonstrated ability to assess business performance, interpret profit and loss statements, analyze key performance indicators, and identify opportunities for operational improvement and increased profitability. Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate business risks and opportunities and develop practical, data-driven recommendations. Solid business acumen and experience supporting strategic planning, defining improvement opportunities, and measuring business outcomes. Excellent verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions, deliver training, and communicate complex findings clearly to different audiences. Proven ability to build collaborative relationships, motivate stakeholders, influence decisions, and drive results without direct authority. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple business needs while delivering timely, relevant recommendations. Comfort working in a remote environment, with a high level of engagement in virtual meetings, including maintaining camera presence when required to support effective communication and team alignment. Benefits: Competitive salary: Annual compensation ranging from $84,000 to $141,750 , depending on experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors. Potential additional compensation: Eligibility for applicable bonuses and commissions, subject to the compensation plan. Remote work flexibility: Fully remote position based in the United States. Professional development: Opportunities to expand expertise in business consulting, financial analysis, and optometric practice management. Meaningful business impact: The opportunity to help eye care practices improve profitability, strengthen operational performance, and deliver better business outcomes. Collaborative environment: Work alongside specialized advisors and cross-functional teams to address diverse business challenges and share expertise. Member-focused work: Build lasting professional relationships while helping businesses access valuable resources, strategic guidance, and practical solutions. Healthcare and employee benefits: Access to an employee benefits package, with specific coverage and eligibility details determined by the employer's applicable plans. Equal opportunity workplace: A commitment to fair employment practices and consideration of qualified candidates without discrimination based on protected characteristics.
