Full Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced Sr. Technical Program Manager who will be responsible for providing global product compliance technical program management and leadership to ensure that all electrical, mechanical, material, and other regulated performance specifications are satisfied in all countries where AWS business exists or will expand.

AWS is at the forefront of providing a broad set of global cloud-based services including compute, storage, databases, networking, and enterprise applications, to help organizations move faster, lower IT costs, and scale. You will be a part of a dynamic business within Amazon.com, and one of the world’s fastest growing and evolving companies, with a team of exceptionally talented, bright and innovative people. GTPC is responsible for ensuring that the infrastructure equipment necessary to support the AWS services are developed, imported, exported, and operated in a compliant manner across the global countries where AWS operates and will expand, including all product certification/safety regulations.

Key job responsibilities You will be part of the AWS Product Compliance Engineering team within AWS Global Trade and Regulatory Compliance team (GTPC) that collaborates with Datacenter Engineering, Product Engineering, Compliance Engineers, Regulatory Analyst, legal, trade strategy, and supply chain to implement compliance specifications and policies, provide product compliance support during product development, builds compliance programs to support AWS Datacenter Engineering, Design Engineering, Power Generations, Advanced Robotics, Region Service Business, and Health & Safety businesses including Datacenter Basis of Design (BOD) lifecycle management, hardware technology development and deployment, new region planning and launches. You will develop compliance specification and plan, troubleshoot and resolve compliance issues that arise in the course of AWS’s NPI and other business processes.

Key job responsibilities

• End-to-end compliance program ownership for AWS datacenter infrastructure equipment — including compute, storage, networking, security hardware, power and cooling infrastructure, and advanced robotics — ensuring all products meet applicable safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), security, energy efficiency, and material compliance requirements and approvals across global jurisdictions. • Drive compliance specification development and execution for new and existing infrastructure products, defining compliance requirements, test plans, certification timelines, and acceptance criteria. • Own the compliance critical path and overall strategy for AWS hardware deployments, proactively identifying risks, resolving blockers, and ensuring compliance milestones are met to support on-time regional launches. • Provide compliance engineering support during New Product Introduction (NPI), partnering with hardware engineering teams to embed compliance-by-design principles early in the product development lifecycle. • Collaborate across multiple stakeholder organizations including Datacenter Engineering (DCE), Annapurna, Hardware Engineering, AWS Infra Service Supply Chain, Compliance Engineers, Regulatory Analysts, Legal, Trade Strategy, and Health & Safety (H&S) to implement compliance specifications and policies. • Build and manage integrated compliance program plans that align engineering development milestones with certification timelines, supply chain readiness, and regional launch schedules. • Drive stakeholder alignment and escalation management across VP-level leadership, ensuring compliance risks and tradeoffs are communicated clearly and resolved decisively. • Build scalable, sustainable compliance processes that improve operational efficiency, reduce cycle time for certifications, and enhance compliance coverage across the growing AWS infrastructure portfolio. • Drive continuous improvement in compliance program execution through mechanisms, automation, and tooling enhancements.
