The Amazon University Talent Acquisition Team is looking for ambitious students to join us as Retail Vendor Manager Intern in 2027.

Internship length will be 12 months, full-time.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work backwards from the customer, identifying inputs to grow Amazon's most strategic brands and improve their performance within a retail category.
  • Support vendor managers in providing a suite of services designed to help brands succeed, collaborating with cross-functional teams including in-stock and marketing.
  • Develop analytical and problem-solving skills by collecting, analysing, and interpreting data to drive category performance.
  • Build an understanding of customer pain points, requirements, and potential value across retail, advertising, and merchant services.
  • Identify target accounts using market data and industry intelligence to support business growth.
  • Identify opportunities to improve products, services, processes, systems, and tools across the business.
  • Work with different parts of the Amazon business to implement improvement projects, including category teams, product teams, and technical support teams.

A day in the life Every day is a little different as a Retail Vendor Manager Intern. Working alongside a vendor manager, you'll learn how Amazon handles its e-commerce retail business across product categories — from books to fashion, electronics to grocery, and everything in between. You might spend your morning analysing category performance data and identifying growth opportunities for strategic brands, then spend your afternoon working with marketing or in-stock teams to implement an improvement project that enhances the customer shopping experience. Amazon is a customer-obsessed business, so no matter which retail category you join, part of your role will involve working backwards from the customer to identify what matters most. You'll gain exposure to Amazon's advertising products and merchant services, learn how we create custom opportunities to delight clients, and partner across functions to deliver results — building your analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Note: You must have the right to work in the country of employment by the start date.

About the team Intern Community: As an Amazon Intern, you'll be part of a dynamic, supportive community that empowers your growth and development. You'll collaborate with interns from around the world, networking and participating in social events to broaden your perspectives. You can also join specialized groups focused on areas like sustainability to explore your diverse interests.

Support: The internship program provides a robust support system, including weekly intern office hours, dedicated IT and HR support, and a program team committed to your success. This ensures you have the guidance and assistance needed to thrive.

Learning Sessions: Exclusive learning sessions will further enhance your skills, granting you access to Amazon's industry-leading learning platforms and the expertise of industry leaders. These structured development opportunities will prepare you for the next step in your career.

Opportunities: Upon successful completion of the internship, you may be considered for a graduate role or a second internship, allowing you to continue your journey with Amazon. Additionally, you'll enjoy a competitive monthly salary, relocation support, and access to a range of employee benefits.
