3D Animator

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a 3D Animator based in Spain. Join a creative game development team as a 3D Animator, bringing characters, objects, and environments to life through engaging, high-quality animations. In this fully remote role, you will help shape the visual identity and player experience of mobile games by creating natural, expressive, and technically accurate movements. You will work closely with artists and game designers to ensure animations communicate gameplay actions clearly and support the overall artistic direction. From character rigs to animation exports, your work will contribute to polished, optimized game experiences across mobile platforms. As a 3D Animator, you will be responsible for producing compelling animations that meet both artistic and technical requirements for mobile games. Your key responsibilities will include: Create animations for characters, objects, and environmental elements in mobile games. Prepare and configure animation clips, including idle, walking, running, attacking, emotes, and other character states. Work with character rigs and skeletons, performing skinning adjustments when necessary. Export animations in FBX format while ensuring compliance with technical specifications. Optimize animations to meet mobile platform performance constraints without compromising visual quality. Collaborate with the art team and game designers to maintain visual consistency and ensure gameplay actions remain clear and readable. Contribute to the development of animation pipelines and help maintain quality standards across projects. Requirements: The ideal candidate combines a strong understanding of animation fundamentals with practical 3D animation skills and an awareness of mobile game production constraints. You should be comfortable working independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The following qualifications and skills are expected: Strong knowledge of animation principles, including timing, squash and stretch, anticipation, and overlapping action. Experience with 3D animation software such as Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, or equivalent tools. Understanding of mobile game development requirements, including animation optimization and the balance between expressiveness and performance. Experience working with rigs and basic knowledge of skinning. Ability to maintain organized project files and ensure technical accuracy throughout the animation workflow. Additional experience that would be an advantage includes: Familiarity with MotionBuilder. Experience using AI-powered motion capture tools. Advanced knowledge of Unity.
