Postgraduate scholarships for eligible Pacific Islanders to study agriculture, forestry or fisheries research at the University of the South Pacific or Fiji National University from Semester 1, 2027.

PASS supports master's and PhD study. Scholarships run for up to two years for master's candidates and up to three years for PhD candidates. Tuition is paid directly for the relevant program, research-grant costs are shared by ACIAR and the host university, and funding to present research at an international conference is included.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be citizens of and currently reside in Fiji, Kiribati, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu or Vanuatu; meet USP or FNU postgraduate admission requirements; align their research with a listed PASS topic or broader theme; and meet applicable travel/study requirements. Papua New Guinea is not eligible for the current PASS intake.
