The 2027 PASS program is accepting applications from eligible Pacific Island nationals for Master’s by Research and PhD study in agriculture at the University of the South Pacific, with tuition, living and research support.
Complete scholarship details
Scholarships are available from Semester 1, 2027. Awards normally support 24 months for a Master’s student and three years or more where applicable for a PhD candidate. Applicants should align a proposal to an identified PASS research topic or a broader program theme and develop the research intent with the relevant USP supervisor and co-supervisor.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be Pacific Island nationals meeting the USP postgraduate admission criteria. The USP call lists Fiji, Kiribati, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu among ACIAR partner countries and also refers to nationals of USP’s 12 member countries. Master’s applicants are normally age 35 or below and PhD applicants 45 or below, with flexibility in exceptional cases. Academic-entry thresholds vary by study route and are stated on the official USP page.
Tips for this scholarship
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
- Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
- Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
- Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
Verification notes
Verified on USP’s current 2027 PASS scholarship page and application instructions and cross-checked against ACIAR’s current government program page. USP states applications close 21 October 2026 at 5pm FJT. Fiji observes UTC+12 throughout 2026, so this is stored as 05:00 UTC. Repository search for the program title returned no existing record.
Job and Scholarship is the discovery and verification layer. Confirm eligibility, dates, salary/funding and application instructions on the original source before submitting anything.
