The adviser will provide classroom-focused technical assistance to school leaders and teachers, strengthen active-learning approaches and help schools implement educational transformation projects.

Full job description

The consultancy is administratively based in Lima but is implemented in the Moquegua region, including work with prioritized schools in Ilo. Responsibilities include pedagogical coaching, project-based and active-learning support, teacher and school-leader training, monitoring visits, progress reporting, innovation activities and coordination with the UNESCO Peru education team. The selected consultant must be able to reside in or relocate to Moquegua and travel as required by the project.

Requirements & qualifications

Applicants should be qualified in education, teaching or a related discipline. UNESCO lists more than eight years of professional experience, at least five years of teaching experience in public primary or secondary schools, and experience in educational projects involving pedagogical advice, monitoring or technical assistance. Native-level Spanish is required. Postgraduate study in education, social sciences or related areas is desirable.
