1. Assistant Financial Accountant

Job Title: Assistant Financial Accountant

Role Overview
The Assistant Financial Accountant supports the Finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, statutory and tax compliance, effective internal controls, audit support, procurement administration and fixed-asset management.
The position reports to the Financial Accountant.
Duties And Responsibilities
-
Assist with monthly management accounts, income statements, statements of financial position, trial balances and supporting schedules.
-
Prepare tax computations and statutory returns, coordinate remittances to ZIMRA and other authorities, and monitor tax legislation.
-
Post accurate and timely financial transactions to the general ledger.
-
Perform bank and suspense-account reconciliations and investigate variances.
-
Implement and monitor internal controls, review ERP postings and investigate accounting anomalies.
-
Support external audits and assist with half-year and year-end reporting.
-
Coordinate compliant procurement, including reviewing requests, obtaining quotations and facilitating delivery of goods and services.
-
Maintain fixed-asset acquisition and disposal records and reconcile tagged assets to the fixed-asset register.
Qualifications And Experience
-
Degree in Accounting or an equivalent qualification.
-
Working towards a professional accounting qualification.
-
Two to three years of relevant accounting experience.
-
Working knowledge of financial reporting, management accounts, trial balances and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
-
Knowledge of Zimbabwean tax and statutory compliance requirements, including ZIMRA returns and remittances.
-
Understanding of internal controls, audit support, procurement processes and fixed-asset administration.

Strong ICT literacy and experience with ERP systems.
-
Strong planning, organisation, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
-
High integrity, adaptability, flexibility and achievement orientation.
2. Administrator

Role Overview
The Administrator supports the smooth and efficient operation of African Century by coordinating administrative, facilities, fleet, procurement, employee welfare and office-support activities across branches and departments.
The role ensures that records, licences, contracts, assets, premises, vehicles and essential services are properly maintained, compliant and cost-effective.
Duties And Responsibilities
-
Coordinate day-to-day office operations across all branches and departments.
-
Maintain accurate and audit-ready administrative records, files, contracts, licences and statutory registrations.
-
Monitor office supplies, stationery and staff amenities.
-
Oversee facilities and property maintenance, inspections, repairs, utilities, water quality, emergency preparedness and fire-safety compliance.
-
Maintain asset registers and property-related records.
-
Administer the company fleet, including vehicle condition, inspections, servicing, insurance, licensing and repairs.
-
Process procurement requests, obtain quotations, issue purchase orders and confirm receipt of goods and services.
-
Coordinate with Finance on budget availability, supplier payments, expenditure monitoring and reconciliations.
-
Manage relationships with landlords, security providers, cleaners, gardeners, maintenance contractors and other vendors.
-
Provide backup reception support, including handling calls, welcoming clients and scheduling appointments.
-
Prepare daily updates, weekly administrative reports, monthly fleet reports and structured work plans.
-
Supervise the Receptionist and Driver/Messenger and coordinate contract support staff.

Perform other duties specified in the job description.
Qualifications And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field. A master’s degree is an added advantage.

One to two years of relevant administrative experience.

Working knowledge of office administration, records management, procurement procedures, facilities coordination, fleet administration and vendor management.
-
Basic accounting knowledge and ability to reconcile expenditure and maintain supporting documentation.
-
Strong planning, organising, prioritisation and problem-solving skills.
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-
Awareness of statutory, safety and regulatory requirements relating to office premises, vehicles and business operations.
