AI-Assisted Code Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an AI-Assisted Code Analyst based in Brazil. This role offers the opportunity to work on an international financial-sector project focused on modernizing and improving complex software environments. You will combine senior-level Java engineering expertise with AI-assisted development practices to analyze, refactor, document, and evolve applications. The position centers on legacy and monolithic systems, with a strong focus on code quality, security, scalability, and maintainability. You will use modern AI coding tools alongside established engineering practices to accelerate analysis and reduce technical debt. The role also provides exposure to CI/CD, DevOps, database technologies, application security, and cross-functional technical collaboration. You will work with multiple teams to identify bottlenecks, implement improvements, and strengthen the reliability of critical applications. The position is fully remote and requires conversational proficiency in both Spanish and English.

Develop, analyze, maintain, and evolve applications using Java, J2EE, JDBC, and related technologies. Analyze and support legacy systems and monolithic applications, identifying opportunities to improve architecture, maintainability, scalability, and performance. Work with Java and Spring Boot applications to identify technical issues and implement sustainable improvements. Integrate AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Devin into code analysis, development, refactoring, documentation, and problem-solving workflows. Identify sources of technical debt and implement improvements that increase code quality and long-term maintainability. Support application quality and security initiatives using tools such as Fortify and SonarQube. Work with Oracle databases and technologies including PL/SQL, JDBC, and SQLLoader. Participate in CI/CD pipelines, Git-based version control, and DevOps practices. Create and maintain technical documentation and project records using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and ALM. Collaborate with technical and multidisciplinary teams to identify bottlenecks, investigate issues, and implement practical improvements. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience. Strong hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, and JDBC. Proven experience working with legacy systems and monolithic applications. Experience or knowledge of ACERO. Practical experience using AI tools for software development, particularly GitHub Copilot and Devin. Experience with code quality, technical debt reduction, and software maintainability. Knowledge of JavaScript, Maven, HTML/JSP, and WebSphere. Experience with Oracle, PL/SQL, and SQLLoader. Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices. Familiarity with code quality and security tools such as Fortify and SonarQube. Conversational Spanish is required. Conversational English is required. Availability for a potential future relocation to Portugal or Spain. Academic background or equivalent knowledge in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work effectively across multidisciplinary technical environments. Interest in emerging technologies and programming languages is valued. Experience working with business requirements and financial or treasury products is a plus.
