Overview

The AICTE Pragati Scholarship supports eligible girl students in AICTE-approved technical degree programmes in India. The National Scholarship Portal lists the 2026–27 scheme as open from 1 June 2026 with student applications accepted through 31 October 2026.

Complete scholarship details

AICTE's official Pragati Degree guidelines state that the scheme supports girl students admitted to the first year of a degree-level course, or to the second year through lateral entry, at an AICTE-approved institution. The award is ₹50,000 per year as a lump-sum contribution toward eligible education-related costs. The guideline provides support for up to four years for students admitted in the first year and up to three years for second-year lateral-entry students. Applications are submitted online through the Government of India's National Scholarship Portal and are verified by the host institution and the relevant State/UT technical-education authority.

Eligibility requirements

Girl students admitted to the first year of an AICTE-approved degree programme, or the second year through lateral entry, may apply. The official scheme guideline states that a maximum of two girl children per family are eligible and family income from all sources must not exceed ₹8 lakh per year, supported by a valid State/UT income certificate. Selection is merit-based under the scheme rules.

Tips for this scholarship

Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.

  1. Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
  2. Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
  3. Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
  4. Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.

Verification notes

Verified against the live NSP Academic Year 2026–27 scheme listing and the official AICTE Pragati Degree specification linked by NSP. NSP gives a date-only student deadline of 31 October 2026; no closing time was added.
