Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a BAS Architect / Technical Lead based in the United States. This fully remote technical leadership role offers the opportunity to architect and deliver an enterprise financial planning and reporting solution designed for the federal government. You will lead the technical design, data integration, and deployment of a Budget and Spend solution built on SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), supporting financial transparency, compliance, and modernization initiatives. Working at the intersection of SAP technologies, data engineering, and enterprise architecture, you will enable automated connectivity with complex financial systems and deliver reliable, actionable reporting capabilities. You will guide a small team of SAC developers, collaborate with functional and project management leads, and help translate client requirements into scalable technical solutions. This position combines hands-on architecture with technical mentorship and product improvement in a mission-driven federal environment. The role is 100% remote, requires minimal travel of less than 20%, and requires an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Lead the technical architecture, solution design, and implementation of the Budget and Spend (BAS) capability using SAP Analytics Cloud, ensuring alignment with financial management, compliance, and modernization objectives. Architect, develop, and deploy automated, bidirectional data pipelines connecting the solution to enterprise financial systems, including SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA. Oversee data integration, reporting configuration, solution deployment, and technical quality to ensure reliable and effective system performance. Ensure solution architecture and implementation align with Federal Financial Management System Requirements (FFMSR), the U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL), and applicable FedRAMP security standards. Lead data consolidation, financial performance reporting, and the configuration of dynamic reports and analytics. Collaborate with federal financial and functional leads to translate business requirements into effective technical designs and implementation plans. Serve as the technical lead for a small team of SAP Analytics Cloud developers, coordinating with project management to prioritize tasks, allocate work, and support delivery. Mentor junior developers, provide technical guidance, and promote engineering quality and continuous improvement across the team. Partner with internal product and solutions teams to communicate client feedback, identify emerging requirements, and inform ongoing product enhancements. Support the successful delivery of secure, scalable, and compliant financial planning and reporting capabilities for federal customers. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline. At least 10 years of experience in technical architecture, data integration, or enterprise solution implementation. Demonstrated expertise architecting solutions with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), particularly in enterprise financial data integration. Experience working with SAP financial systems, including SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA. Familiarity with native SAP connectivity technologies and protocols, such as OData services and Core Data Services (CDS) views. Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture, data engineering, system integration, and technical solution design. Active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain one. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strong focus on data accuracy, system reliability, security, and compliance. Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions for functional stakeholders and project teams. Experience providing technical leadership, coordinating developer activities, and mentoring less experienced team members. Preferred qualifications include experience implementing financial planning or business intelligence applications, delivering enterprise solutions for federal government clients, and familiarity with federal budget execution processes. Benefits: Salary: Proposed annual salary range of $144,100–$225,100, depending on factors such as location, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and applicable federal contract labor categories. Healthcare: Health insurance benefits. Paid leave: Paid time off and leave benefits. Retirement: Retirement savings benefits. Learning and development: Opportunities to strengthen technical expertise and support ongoing professional growth. Technical leadership: The opportunity to shape enterprise architecture, guide solution implementation, and influence technical delivery standards. Team leadership: The chance to mentor developers and contribute to a collaborative, technically focused team. Remote flexibility: A 100% remote work arrangement within the United States. Limited travel: Travel requirements of less than 20%. Mission-driven impact: The opportunity to support federal financial modernization through secure, compliant, and innovative technology solutions.
