The Ideation Center is the think tank arm of Strategy that focuses on thought leadership and growth of a number of distinct functional capabilities, such as behavioral economics, evidence generation, foresight, and innovation as a service. Within this context, the Ideation Center is growing its behavioral science capacity to work on the application of behavioral insights into a variety of policy areas and for a number of projects and programs. We are looking for a Behavioral and Data Analyst who will support in implementing evidence-based research.

Primary duties and responsibilities - Apply mixed analytical and statistical methods, including quantitative, qualitative, and computational methods, to various projects and programs as needed - Develop appropriate research questions, design research protocols, and conceptualize methodologies, such as data collection plans, analysis plans, and data interpretation - Design research and evaluation protocols (e.g., experiment research design for Randomized Control Trials (RCTs), sample size, randomization, power calculation) - Support in designing, validating, and deploying surveys that improve understanding of beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors - Identify relevant data sources and sets to mine, and collect large structured and unstructured data sets and variables - Design qualitative research protocols (e.g., conduct interviews, focus groups, or observations related to behavioral topics) and report on findings - Devise and utilize algorithms and models to mine big data stores, perform data and error analysis to improve models, and clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy - Implement predictive, statistical, and econometric modeling and analyses - Code and analyze data and perform quantitative statistical data analyses - Synthesize research findings and conclusions based on qualitative and quantitative research - Develop data visualizations, experimenting with various technologies and tools for creating data-driven insights

Knowledge, skills, and abilities Qualifications: - Master’s degree in economics, data science, behavioral science, psychology, social sciences, statistics, or any related field - 4+ years relevant experience with evidence of research in psychology and/or cognitive science, survey design and analysis and other human data collection approaches, RCTs or experimental methods, and/or quantitative and qualitative analysis - Experience using standard software packages to analyze and visualize quantitative data (e.g. SPSS, R, Stata,Tableau) - Experience in advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and their applications - Experience in implementing various data visualization techniques - Experience working with unstructured data, data mining, and testing - Experience collecting original human subjects’ data in experimental and field settings - Ability to effectively communicate research findings - Demonstrated experience in scientific and technical writing

Skills: - Excellent data analysis skills - Excellent quantitative and analytical research skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Fluency in English is a must, and competency in Arabic is strongly preferred
