Full Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

You will be a part of the global BIM and technology team responsible for implementing, managing, and adopting new BIM technologies and systems to support the design, construction, and operation of Amazon-owned data center facilities.

You will be responsible for administering and implementing new BIM systems. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of such tools and propose process improvements. You will work with BIM stakeholders to collect requirements and coordinate development with the engineering team.

Key job responsibilities You must be able to work independently and with your team to complete tasks on time and without error. This includes working with internal teams as well as external suppliers, consultants, manufacturers, vendors, and contractors. Your will:

Administer BIM Common Data Environments, such as Forma (former Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360), and other technology solutions. Use technology to design, develop, deploy, test, and maintain BIM solutions. Produce comprehensive, usable BIM systems documentation. Evangelize, educate, and support primary design technology applications. Contribute to the development of technical solutions, programs, or scripts that use BIM API and SDK such as Revit and Autodesk Platform Services. Coordinate information management, smart object metadata and classification codes with asset information databases. Perform BIM data QA/QC and analysis. Provide BIM technical support to project teams. Assist with establishing and maintaining BIM standards, processes, and workflows across regions. Educate and train internal and external teams in BIM software, procedure, and best practices.

A day in the life A typical day involves administering Autodesk Construction Cloud—managing projects, permissions, and the Common Data Environment. You develop automation scripts using Revit API and Autodesk Platform Services, then run QA/QC checks on model data and metadata. You also train internal and external teams on BIM standards, provide technical support, and update documentation. Throughout the day, you collaborate independently and cross-functionally with designers, suppliers, and contractors to deliver error-free results on schedule.

About the team Within the AWS Data Center Community, the Data Center Design Engineering team is a dynamic and collaborative group of engineers and designers dedicated to revolutionizing data center infrastructure. We pride ourselves on our expertise in designing, building, and optimizing innovative data center solutions. Together, we strive for highest level of quality, efficiency, reliability, and sustainability in data center operations.

We foster an environment of inclusion, innovation, and excellence. Team members continuously push the boundaries of what's possible in data center design and engineering. Joining our team means becoming a vital part AWS's mission to evolve the future of data center technology. If you are passionate about data center engineering, and want to make a meaningful impact in this critical field, we invite you to be part of our exciting journey.

  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.)
  • 2+ years of using BIM API and SDKs.
  • Min. 3+ years of relevant professional experience in BMS
