Overview
Kazakhstan's 2026 Bolashak scholarship competition is accepting applications for funded study abroad through 16 October 2026. The government allocated 635 Bolashak awards for 2026, including 20 bachelor's, 400 master's, 50 doctoral and 165 internship awards.
Complete scholarship details
Applications for the Bolashak scholarship are submitted through Kazakhstan's eGov portal. For funded academic study, the state covers eligible study costs and also provides support for round-trip travel, medical insurance, visa fees, study materials and a monthly stipend. Degree-track and applicant-category requirements differ, so applicants should use the current official rules for their route.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be citizens of Kazakhstan and meet the requirements for their selected Bolashak category. The current rules state that bachelor's applicants need an unconditional offer from an approved foreign university, at least B1 on QAZTEST or Qazaq Resmi Test, and an eligible first-to-third-place international olympiad/science-project/performer competition award matching the intended field. General master's applicants need an unconditional offer from an approved foreign university and at least B1 Kazakh-language certification. Doctoral applicants need an unconditional offer and at least B1 Kazakh-language certification, with additional category-specific requirements where applicable.
Tips for this scholarship
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
- Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
- Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
- Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
Verification notes
Verified against the current Kazakhstan government 2026 Bolashak announcement and the Center for International Programs applicant rules. The official announcement gives a closing date of 16 October 2026 but no universal closing clock time, so deadline_date is populated and deadline is null.
Job and Scholarship is the discovery and verification layer. Confirm eligibility, dates, salary/funding and application instructions on the original source before submitting anything.
