Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a BSA/AML Compliance Specialist based in the United States. Join a growing financial technology environment focused on transforming global money movement through stablecoin and fiat payment infrastructure. As a BSA/AML Compliance Specialist, you will support the execution and continuous improvement of the U.S. financial crime compliance program. You will work across customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity investigations, regulatory reporting, and compliance policy development. Collaborating with global Compliance teams and U.S. business stakeholders, you will help maintain effective controls while supporting evolving financial products and payment services. This role combines hands-on investigative work with regulatory analysis and process improvement in a fast-paced, international environment. It offers the opportunity to contribute to a strong compliance culture as digital assets and cross-border payments continue to evolve.

Support the day-to-day operation and ongoing enhancement of the U.S. Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) compliance program. Conduct risk-based investigations, maintain regulatory documentation, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance controls remain effective and aligned with applicable requirements. Administer U.S. BSA/AML and sanctions compliance controls, maintaining procedures, supporting documentation, and relevant records. Draft, review, and update BSA/AML policies, procedures, risk assessments, and control documentation for approval by compliance leadership. Review transaction monitoring alerts, investigate unusual activity, document findings, and escalate concerns according to established procedures. Prepare suspicious activity investigation summaries and Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) narratives, supporting timely filings and accurate recordkeeping. Review customer onboarding and due diligence materials, including Know Your Customer (KYC), Know Your Business (KYB), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) documentation. Identify gaps in customer information and recommend appropriate risk-based actions. Assist with regulatory reporting and filings, including Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) reports, Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS) filings, and Money Services Business (MSB) Call Reports, where applicable. Support regulatory examinations, independent compliance reviews, banking partner information requests, and consumer complaint investigations and responses. Collaborate with Compliance, Operations, Product, and Commercial teams to resolve compliance questions and improve workflows. Monitor developments in U.S. money transmission regulations, payments, sanctions, and financial crime risks related to digital assets. Manage assigned investigations and compliance tasks independently, escalating matters requiring senior-level review or approval. Requirements: The ideal candidate brings practical experience in financial crime compliance, strong investigative and documentation skills, and a sound understanding of U.S. regulatory requirements. You should be comfortable managing sensitive investigations, exercising independent judgment, and balancing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in BSA/AML compliance, financial crime investigations, or a related compliance function within banking, payments, money services businesses, or fintech. Working knowledge of BSA/AML requirements, FinCEN regulations, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions, and risk-based customer due diligence. Experience investigating transactions and preparing clear, well-supported SAR narratives or investigative memoranda. Practical experience reviewing KYC/KYB documentation, CDD/EDD materials, and customer risk profiles. Understanding of compliance controls, regulatory reporting, documentation standards, and escalation procedures. Strong written communication skills and the ability to document investigative findings accurately and defensibly. Sound judgment, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to organize competing priorities. Ability to work independently on assigned matters while recognizing when issues require compliance leadership approval. Strong collaboration and communication skills when working with global teams and cross-functional stakeholders. Preferred qualifications include: Exposure to U.S. money transmitter regulations and Money Transmitter License (MTL) requirements. Familiarity with NMLS reporting and MSB regulatory filings. Experience with stablecoins, digital assets, blockchain analytics, or cross-border payments. Experience supporting regulatory examinations, banking partner reviews, or independent compliance assessments. Benefits: Fair and competitive salary aligned with experience and professional growth. Flexible working hours, with a hybrid working approach. Flexible holiday arrangements. A collaborative, growth-oriented culture with opportunities for professional development. Opportunities to travel to international offices. An open and creative working environment where employees can contribute to organizational development and future opportunities. An inclusive workplace that encourages candidates to apply even if they do not meet every listed requirement.
