Your Mission

EMPIT is a German deep-tech company based in Berlin, specializing in Current Magnetometry Inspection (CMI) – an innovative technology for inspecting pipelines that cannot be inspected using conventional in-line inspection methods.

As EMPIT expands its presence in North America, we are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to build strong relationships with pipeline operators and industry partners, identify new business opportunities, and help establish EMPIT as a trusted technology partner in the North American pipeline industry.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in EMPIT’s international growth, combining industry expertise, technical understanding, and business development to make a direct impact.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic business development and outreach activities across North America
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with pipeline operators, industry partners, service providers and key stakeholders
  • Identify pipeline integrity challenges and potential applications for EMPIT’s technology across multiple market sectors
  • Collaborate with technical teams to understand customer needs and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations
  • Represent EMPIT at industry conferences and professional events, strengthening our presence and network across North America

Qualifications And Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience, including at least 4 years in pipeline integrity, ideally with a pipeline operator or within the energy industry
  • BSc in Engineering, Science, or a related field
  • An established network within the North American pipeline industry and proven experience in business development, industry collaborations, and partnerships
  • Strong technical understanding and the ability to communicate confidently with technical decision-makers, supported by excellent presentation, technical writing, and reporting skills
  • Entrepreneurial, self-driven, and pragmatic mindset – you take ownership, show initiative, and know how to move things forward independently
  • Flexible and hands-on approach, with the confidence to make decisions and act without constant guidance
  • Strong willingness to travel, approximately 20–40%, including customer meetings, industry conferences, and professional events
  • AMPP/NACE certification is a plus
