Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Systems Architect based in the United States. The Business Systems Architect will design and evolve enterprise technology solutions that enable secure, scalable, and efficient business operations. Working across IT, Finance, HR, Revenue Operations, and other business functions, this role will connect platforms and streamline critical workflows. The successful candidate will translate complex and sometimes ambiguous business needs into practical architectural solutions and measurable outcomes. A key focus will be modernizing enterprise systems through integrations, cloud technologies, automation, and AI enablement. This position combines hands-on technical implementation with long-term architectural planning, governance, and continuous improvement. The architect will also guide cross-functional initiatives, strengthen data quality, and ensure systems meet security and compliance standards. This is an opportunity to take ownership of enterprise-wide solutions in a collaborative, remote-first environment that values technical excellence and innovation.

The Business Systems Architect will lead the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of enterprise platforms, ensuring technology decisions support business objectives and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include: Translate complex and evolving stakeholder needs into prioritized projects with clearly defined requirements and measurable success criteria. Lead requirements gathering, discovery, process mapping, impact analysis, and project scoping for cross-functional business systems initiatives. Design, implement, and maintain enterprise architecture solutions for IT-managed systems and platforms. Lead architecture efforts for moderately complex initiatives, translating business and operational requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions. Define and maintain integration strategies across SaaS applications, APIs, cloud platforms, and hybrid environments. Coordinate end-to-end solution delivery, including technical implementation, test planning, user acceptance testing (UAT), defect resolution, deployment, post-deployment validation, and historical data reconciliation. Establish and maintain data quality practices, including monitoring, cleansing, validation, migration, backloading, and reconciliation as systems and data models evolve. Support AI adoption, automation, and modernization initiatives by providing architectural guidance and implementation expertise. Evaluate emerging technologies, support vendor assessments, and recommend solutions aligned with business needs and long-term technology strategy. Ensure architecture decisions comply with security, governance, compliance, and operational standards. Identify opportunities to improve system performance, scalability, resilience, reliability, and cost efficiency. Oversee enterprise platform governance and administration, including role-based access controls, license management, and technology cost optimization. Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to coordinate solution delivery and resolve complex technical challenges. Provide technical mentorship to team members and project teams, promoting sound architectural decisions and effective problem-solving. Contribute to architecture standards, technical documentation, and best practices that improve consistency and maintainability across enterprise systems. Requirements: The ideal candidate is an experienced enterprise technology professional who combines architectural expertise with hands-on execution, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to solving complex business challenges. They should be comfortable working independently, navigating ambiguity, and collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Required qualifications and skills include: 8+ years of experience in systems architecture, application architecture, enterprise architecture, or a related field. Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise technology solutions across complex business environments. Experience working with enterprise systems, cloud and hybrid infrastructure, and integration technologies, including APIs and SaaS platforms. Familiarity with enterprise applications such as Salesforce, Certinia, Rippling, and Greenhouse. Strong understanding of infrastructure, system design, architecture principles, and information security. Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into scalable, reliable, and secure technical solutions. Experience partnering with cross-functional teams, evaluating technical alternatives, and leading architecture initiatives. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex technical issues. Understanding of security, compliance, governance, and performance optimization principles. Familiarity with architecture frameworks, security standards, or compliance requirements. Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to executive, business, and technical audiences. A balance of hands-on technical delivery and long-term architectural thinking. Strong ownership and accountability, with the ability to identify risks early, challenge assumptions constructively, and follow initiatives through to measurable outcomes. A collaborative, adaptable, and solutions-oriented mindset, with a commitment to system quality and continuous improvement. Preferred qualifications: Experience supporting AI implementation, workflow automation, or enterprise modernization initiatives. Experience with vendor selection, technology evaluation, and mentoring technical colleagues. Benefits: The position is offered within a remote-first working environment. The role provides opportunities to take ownership of enterprise architecture initiatives and influence cross-functional technology strategy. The opportunity to work on AI enablement, automation, cloud transformation, and modern enterprise platforms. A collaborative and inclusive workplace that values diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and abilities. Reasonable accommodations are available for candidates and employees with disabilities.
