The CGRS D is valued at CAD 40,000 per year for three years. Applicants submit through a Canadian institution when required by their registration status or directly to the appropriate federal agency when eligible to do so. Institutional deadlines can be significantly earlier than the agency deadline.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must meet the CGRS D doctoral-study and program requirements. The tri-agency program generally limits applicants to no more than 36 months of full-time-equivalent doctoral study by December 31 of the application year. International applicants may be eligible when registered in an eligible Canadian doctoral program by the application deadline, subject to the program's current rules and award limits.

Applicants required to submit through a Canadian institution must use that institution's earlier internal deadline.
