Full job description

Who we are: For over 25 years, Global Relay has set the standard in enterprise information archiving with industry-leading cloud archiving, surveillance, eDiscovery, and analytics solutions. We securely capture and preserve the communications data of the world’s most highly regulated firms, giving them greater visibility and control over their information and ensuring compliance with stringent regulations. Though we offer competitive compensation and benefits and all the other perks one would expect from an established company, we are not your typical technology company. Global Relay is a career-building company. A place for big ideas. New challenges. Groundbreaking innovation. It’s a place where you can genuinely make an impact – and be recognized for it. We believe great businesses thrive on diversity, inclusion, and the contributions of all employees. To that end, we recruit candidates from different backgrounds and foster a work environment that encourages employees to collaborate and learn from each other, completely free of barriers. Your role: This role is based full-time in our beautiful London office set out over five floors, located on Cannon Street. Our office is equipped with a fully operational kitchen, event space for up to 150 guests, client briefing boardrooms and satellite canteens for staff. As part of our growing Lounge team, you will play an important role in delivering a consistently high-quality service across both our in-house client catering and subsidised staff meals. This is a varied and hands-on position, combining external and corporate event catering with the day-to-day support of our staff lounges and kitchen facilities.  The role provides an excellent opportunity to gain broad experience across a range of office hospitality and catering functions, working closely with our Lounge, Admin and Office Facilities teams. This is a full-time, Monday-to-Friday position, with working hours typically between 7:00am and 4:00pm . Some flexibility will be required to support in-house events that take place during weekday evenings.   Your job: Assist with the set-up, execution and breaking down of catering requirements across the office for both staff and external guests. Ensure consistently high standards are maintained across all catering services, representing the company in a professional and positive manner. Prepare, organise and lay out catering for external clients and corporate events, including continental breakfasts, charcuterie boards and drinks receptions. Support the Lounge team with food service, including preparation, serving and post-service cleaning.  Maintain front-of-house equipment, including fridges, coffee machines, dishwashers and other hospitality equipment. Report any equipment maintenance issues. Operate dishwashers across kitchens, ensuring glassware, crockery and cutlery are cleaned/buffed and handwashing when required Ensure all dishware is fully stocked, polished and presented to a high standard ahead of food service and returned to appropriate location/floor.  Maintain the cleanliness, organisation and general upkeep of staff lounges, kitchens and hospitality equipment on a daily basis. Assist with daily deliveries, checking the quality, quantity and condition of items and ensuring appropriate storage. Manage the distribution and replenishment of food supplies, consumables, catering equipment and dishware across our canteens and kitchens. Support the Admin team with ad hoc requirements, including event set-up, auditorium preparation, furniture moves and other office-related requests. Contribute to a welcoming, professional and high-quality hospitality experience for employees, clients and visitors. Other ad-hoc duties as required.    About you: Previous experience in hospitality, events and/or food service in a professional/corporate environment. Comfortable working in a physically demanding role, including standing for extended periods and lifting and moving heavy items. A collaborative team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. Able to work independently, use initiative and take a proactive approach to completing tasks. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering consistently high standards. Excellent standards of hygiene, cleanliness and organisation. Strong customer service skills with a professional, approachable and can-do attitude. Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to support different areas of the business as required. Global Relay is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application. What you can expect: At Global Relay, there’s no ceiling to what you can achieve. It’s the land of opportunity for the energetic, the intelligent, the driven. You’ll receive the mentoring, coaching, and support you need to reach your career goals. You’ll be part of a culture that breeds creativity and rewards perseverance and hard work. And you’ll be working alongside smart, talented individuals from diverse backgrounds, with complementary knowledge and skills. Global Relay is an equal-opportunity employer committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
