Applicants through the Guinea-Bissau Chevening route can apply for the fully funded 2027–2028 Chevening Scholarship for an eligible one-year taught master’s degree in the United Kingdom.

Chevening is the UK Government’s international scholarship programme. Standard scholarship support covers university tuition fees, approved economy travel, the UK visa application cost, arrival and departure allowances, a travel top-up, a monthly living stipend and up to £75 toward required tuberculosis testing. The Guinea-Bissau page also warns that UK visa processing and TB testing are not available locally, so successful applicants may need to travel to another country and initially meet those travel costs; some discretionary reimbursement may be available.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be citizens of a Chevening-eligible country or territory and satisfy the current Chevening eligibility rules, including returning to the country of award for at least two years after the scholarship, having at least 2,800 hours of post-undergraduate work experience, holding an undergraduate degree that qualifies for UK master’s study, completing undergraduate studies at least two years before the application deadline, and applying to three different eligible UK university courses. An unconditional offer from at least one selected course is required by the later Chevening offer deadline.
