Chevening is the UK Government’s international scholarship programme. The Iraq award is currently open for 2027–2028 study. Standard support includes tuition fees, approved economy travel, an arrival allowance, visa application cost, a departure allowance, a monthly living stipend, a travel top-up allowance and up to £75 toward required tuberculosis testing.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be citizens of a Chevening-eligible country or territory and meet the current residence rules, commit to returning to their country of award for at least two years after the scholarship, hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies them for an eligible UK master’s programme, and have at least 2,800 hours of work experience acquired after completing the undergraduate degree. For the current cycle, the undergraduate degree must have been completed by October 2024.
