Overview
Eligible applicants from Lesotho can apply for the fully funded 2027–2028 Chevening Scholarship for a one-year taught master’s degree in the United Kingdom.
Complete scholarship details
Chevening describes its scholarship as fully funded. Current support includes university tuition fees, approved economy travel to and from the scholar’s country of residence, an arrival allowance, one visa application cost, a departure allowance, a travel top-up allowance, a monthly personal living stipend, and up to £75 toward TB testing where required. The stipend rate depends on study location and is reviewed annually, so no fixed monthly amount is stated here.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must meet Chevening’s current eligibility rules, including citizenship of a Chevening-eligible country or territory, the required residence/return-home commitment, an undergraduate degree that qualifies for an eligible UK master’s programme, and at least 2,800 hours of work experience gained after completing the undergraduate degree over a minimum of two years. Applicants must also satisfy the current course and application requirements.
Tips for this scholarship
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
- Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
- Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
- Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
Verification notes
Verified from Chevening’s official Lesotho award result, current application timeline, scholarship overview, work-experience guidance and funding FAQ. The Lesotho award is open until 6 October 2026 at 11:00 UTC. No universal stipend amount was invented.
