Overview
Eligible applicants from Libya can apply for the fully funded 2027–2028 Chevening Scholarship for a one-year taught master’s degree in the United Kingdom.
Complete scholarship details
Chevening’s current scholarship package normally includes university tuition fees, approved economy travel to and from the scholar’s country of residence, an arrival allowance, one visa application cost, a departure allowance, a travel top-up allowance, a monthly personal living stipend, and up to £75 toward TB testing where required. The Libya page notes there is no UK visa processing centre in Libya, so successful scholars may need to travel to another country for visa processing; discretionary reimbursement of some related travel costs may be available.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must meet Chevening’s current rules, including citizenship of a Chevening-eligible country or territory, the applicable residence requirement, a commitment to return to the country of award for at least two years after the scholarship, an undergraduate degree that qualifies for a UK master’s programme, and at least 2,800 hours of work experience gained after completing the undergraduate degree over a minimum of two years. Applicants select three eligible UK master’s courses and must satisfy current course-offer requirements.
Tips for this scholarship
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
- Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
- Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
- Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
Verification notes
