Overview
Applications are open for the 2027–2028 Chevening Scholarship for eligible applicants from Cuba. The fully funded award supports a one-year eligible master’s degree in the United Kingdom and closes 6 October 2026 at 11:00 UTC.
Complete scholarship details
Chevening is the UK Government’s international scholarship programme for emerging leaders. Cuban applicants apply through the official Cuba award page and online application system. Scholarship recipients study an eligible one-year taught master’s course in the UK and receive tuition funding, approved economy travel, visa-cost support, arrival and departure allowances, a monthly living stipend and other stated programme allowances.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be citizens of a Chevening-eligible country or territory and apply under the Cuba award route, commit to returning to their country of award for at least two years after the scholarship ends, hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies them for a UK master’s programme, and have at least 2,800 hours of work experience acquired after completing the undergraduate degree. For the current cycle, the undergraduate degree must have been completed by October 2024. Applicants must also satisfy Chevening’s remaining eligibility and course-selection requirements.
Tips for this scholarship
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Confirm all current eligibility criteria and choose three eligible UK master’s courses before submitting the scholarship application.
- Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
- Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
- Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
- Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
Verification notes
Verified against the official Chevening Cuba page, which states that 2027–2028 applications are open until 6 October 2026 at 11:00 UTC, plus current official Chevening eligibility, work-experience and scholarship-benefit guidance. The Cuba award page links to the official ASAMS application system. No fixed stipend amount is stated because Chevening says the monthly living allowance depends on whether study is inside or outside London and is subject to annual review.
Job and Scholarship is the discovery and verification layer. Confirm eligibility, dates, salary/funding and application instructions on the original source before submitting anything.
