Overview
Applicants from the Dominican Republic can apply for a Chevening Scholarship for a fully funded one-year master’s degree in the United Kingdom for the 2027–2028 academic year.
Complete scholarship details
Chevening is the UK Government’s international scholarship programme. The Dominican Republic country call is open for 2027–2028 study. A standard full Chevening Scholarship normally covers tuition fees, approved economy travel to and from the scholar’s country of residence, the visa application cost, arrival and departure allowances, a travel top-up allowance, a monthly living stipend, and up to £75 toward tuberculosis testing when required.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be citizens of a Chevening-eligible country or territory and apply through the Dominican Republic award, commit to returning to their home country for at least two years after the scholarship ends, have at least two years (2,800 hours) of work experience gained after completing their undergraduate degree, hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies them for a UK master’s programme and was completed at least two years before the application deadline, and apply to three eligible UK university courses. At least one unconditional offer must be secured by the later Chevening offer deadline. Other Chevening ineligibility rules apply.
Tips for this scholarship
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
- Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
- Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
- Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
