We are seeking an experienced Clinical Informatics Director to lead a large-scale, multi-site clinical information system implementation across multiple healthcare facilities. In this senior leadership role, you will bridge clinical practice, digital health technology, and enterprise system design to deliver effective, standardized clinical workflows. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, clinical leaders, technical teams, and executive stakeholders to align system capabilities with patient care requirements. Your expertise will help ensure clinical systems support patient safety, clinical quality, operational efficiency, and consistent care delivery across sites. Lead clinical informatics activities throughout the implementation of a large-scale, multi-site clinical information system (CIS), ensuring alignment between clinical priorities, system design, and organizational objectives. Standardize clinical workflows across healthcare facilities while accommodating approved local variations and maintaining consistency in clinical practices. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, clinical leaders, and multidisciplinary stakeholders to gather requirements, assess operational needs, and translate clinical priorities into effective system solutions. Lead clinical governance processes, facilitate working groups, coordinate decision-making, and oversee approval mechanisms to ensure alignment across participating facilities. Translate clinical requirements, workflow analyses, and approved designs into technical configuration and system build specifications in collaboration with technical teams. Oversee clinical informatics and technical build teams, including resource allocation, work prioritization, testing activities, release management, upgrades, and implementation milestones. Direct clinical validation, system testing, release readiness assessments, cutover planning, and go-live preparation to support safe and effective implementation. Provide leadership during go-live activities, incident management, issue resolution, and post-implementation stabilization, ensuring timely responses to clinical and operational challenges. Embed patient safety, clinical quality, and evidence-based practices into system configuration, workflow design, and implementation decisions. Develop and support clinician education, change management, communication, and adoption initiatives to facilitate successful transitions to new digital workflows. Monitor program progress, identify risks and dependencies, track issues, and provide actionable recommendations and status updates to senior leadership. Mentor team members, facilitate knowledge transfer, and contribute to the development of sustainable internal clinical informatics capabilities and continuous optimization practices. Requirements A bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Informatics, Health Sciences, or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and substantial senior-level clinical informatics experience may be considered. At least 10 years of experience in clinical informatics, enterprise EHR/EMR/CIS implementation or optimization, and clinical workflow design within a healthcare system, including progressively responsible leadership experience. A minimum of 5 years in a leadership or senior advisory role overseeing clinical informatics, clinical system build activities, or clinical workflow teams within a multi-site acute-care healthcare environment. Demonstrated experience standardizing, redesigning, and localizing clinical workflows across multiple healthcare facilities while balancing enterprise requirements with approved site-specific needs. Strong expertise in clinical informatics and enterprise electronic health record systems, including the ability to translate clinical requirements into technical configuration specifications and build activities. Proven experience engaging physicians and other clinical stakeholders, facilitating clinical governance, managing competing priorities, and supporting collaborative decision-making and system adoption. Hands-on knowledge of clinical validation, testing strategies, release readiness, cutover planning, go-live execution, incident management, and post-implementation stabilization. A strong understanding of patient safety, clinical quality, clinician education, adult learning principles, change management, and continuous improvement in digital healthcare environments. Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinate cross-functional activities, manage resources, mentor professionals, and facilitate knowledge transfer. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess program risks, resolve complex issues, monitor progress, and communicate recommendations to senior leadership. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both English and French, with the ability to engage effectively with clinical, technical, operational, and executive audiences. Ability to work independently in a remote environment and travel periodically to project locations as required. Benefits Competitive hourly compensation: CAD $100–$110 per hour, depending on the applicable contractual terms.
