You will work closely with customers and internal accounting and operations teams to streamline payment processes and ensure accurate documentation. The position offers considerable autonomy, encouraging independent thinking, practical problem-solving, and personalized customer interactions rather than scripted communication. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their expertise in collections and finance while contributing to an international technology business with a strong social mission.

Accounts Receivable and Collections: Proactively contact business customers by email, phone, or video call to follow up on overdue invoices, secure payments, and maintain accurate records of collection activities. Purchase Order Management: Monitor customer purchase order schedules, follow up on missing documentation, and ensure purchase orders are received on time to prevent payment delays. Invoice Submission: Navigate customer invoicing portals and submit invoices accurately in accordance with individual customer requirements and payment procedures. Documentation and Process Improvement: Create, maintain, and update internal documentation related to collections, ensuring processes remain organized, accurate, and accessible to the team. Independent Work Management: Organize and prioritize collection activities, monitor outstanding tasks, maintain follow-up schedules, and take initiative to resolve issues efficiently. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the accounts receivable and operations teams to share information, coordinate solutions, and support the organization's financial objectives. Requirements Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to express ideas clearly and professionally across email, phone, and video calls. Customer Service Orientation: A natural ability to work with customers, understand their concerns, maintain positive professional relationships, and approach sensitive payment conversations with tact. Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to assess situations quickly, discuss issues confidently, and develop practical solutions independently. Conflict Resolution: The ability to handle challenging conversations professionally, manage disagreements constructively, and maintain a customer-focused approach while pursuing payment objectives. Organization and Time Management: Strong attention to detail and the ability to independently manage multiple accounts, prioritize tasks, track outstanding payments, and maintain consistent follow-up. Autonomy and Initiative: A proactive, inquisitive mindset, with the confidence to investigate issues, identify opportunities for improvement, and take ownership of responsibilities without relying on scripts or constant supervision. Accounting and Collections Experience: Previous experience in accounting, accounts receivable, or collections is highly desirable but not required. Financial Documentation Knowledge: The ability to read and interpret invoices, purchase orders, and contracts is an advantage. Remote Work Experience: Familiarity with collaborating with remote colleagues, communicating through digital tools, and managing an independent work schedule is considered an asset. Work Authorization: Candidates must be based in Canada and legally authorized to work in the country. Benefits Competitive Salary: Annual compensation ranging from CA$50,000 to CA$60,000, depending on skills and experience. Fully Remote Work: Work from anywhere in Canada in a distributed environment that emphasizes autonomy, trust, and effective communication. Comprehensive Health Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance. Financial Protection: Life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment coverage, critical illness insurance, and short- and long-term disability insurance. Retirement Savings Support: Access to a group retirement savings plan, with an annual bonus payment provided in lieu of an employer Canadian RRSP contribution that employees may choose to put toward retirement savings. Performance-Based Bonus: Participation in a company-wide bonus plan linked to organizational performance. Paid Parental Leave: Access to paid parental leave. Employee and Family Assistance: An Employee and Family Assistance Program to support personal and family well-being. Professional Development: A US$2,000 annual professional development budget and five dedicated days each year for learning and career development. Flexible and Supportive Culture: Core overlapping working hours, with consideration for appointments and personal commitments, alongside an emphasis on maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Collaborative Environment: A friendly, respectful workplace that values teamwork, autonomy, interesting work, and individual contributions. Social Impact: The opportunity to contribute to an organization with a strong charitable mission, donating more than 60% of its profits to charitable causes. Additional Information The hiring process may include a practical assignment, interviews with the hiring manager and accounts receivable team, a final interview with senior leadership and HR, and reference checks.
