Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Commercial Director, Public Health (Vector Control) based in United States. This senior commercial leadership role will drive growth in the U.S. vector control and public health market, with a particular focus on invasive Aedes mosquitoes and associated disease risks. You will lead market development, pipeline generation, contracting, and strategic partnerships across mosquito control districts and public health organizations. The role combines commercial strategy with hands-on business development, requiring strong knowledge of government procurement and public-sector funding environments. Based in Florida or a region with proven Florida commercial experience, you will help translate policy momentum and public health priorities into sustainable programs. You will work closely with commercial, policy, product, science, regulatory, and operations teams to ensure solutions are both commercially viable and operationally deliverable. This is an opportunity to shape an emerging market and contribute directly to innovative approaches to protecting communities from mosquito-borne diseases.

Translate the U.S. commercial strategy into actionable market and account plans, prioritizing opportunities according to disease risk, available budgets, customer readiness, and potential for adoption. Own the commercial pipeline from initial opportunity through signed contract, delivering against revenue targets while maintaining accurate forecasting and disciplined opportunity management. Develop pricing strategies and commercial models, including multi-year vector suppression programs, in collaboration with Product, Finance, and other relevant teams. Monitor market developments, competing approaches, customer needs, and emerging opportunities, translating market intelligence into recommendations for product, operational, and commercial planning. Contribute to the medium- and long-term U.S. business strategy by identifying priority markets, customer segments, commercial models, and growth opportunities. Bring customer and market insights into the development of next-generation vector control solutions designed for the U.S. public health market. Build senior-level relationships with mosquito control districts, state, county, and local health departments, federal agencies, professional associations, and other relevant stakeholders. Coordinate federal engagement with policy colleagues, including potential relationships with agencies such as the CDC, EPA, and other government departments. Develop customer-focused delivery and technology partnerships with clearly defined success measures and pathways toward sustainable, multi-year contracts. Represent the organization at industry conferences, mosquito control district board meetings, public forums, and other relevant events to strengthen market presence and relationships. Lead proposals, bids, contracting, and negotiations across federal, state, county, and local procurement processes, including cooperative agreements and special-district funding cycles. Identify and pursue supplemental funding opportunities, including federal cooperative agreements, state appropriations, and philanthropic funding sources. Partner with Operations, Science, and Regulatory teams to ensure commercial commitments are deliverable, compliant, and aligned with the standards expected by public-sector customers and communities. Requirements: Bring at least 10 years of experience in commercial leadership, business development, account management, or related roles, including at least 5 years in a senior-level position, ideally within government, public health, or another highly regulated environment. Have a strong understanding of the U.S. mosquito control and public health landscape, including how mosquito control districts and health departments plan, budget, procure, and implement programs. Demonstrate a proven track record of winning and scaling multi-year public-sector contracts through complex procurement processes, funding cycles, and stakeholder environments. Bring established relationships across U.S. vector control, public health, biosecurity, government, or related professional communities. Have experience developing go-to-market strategies, commercial pipelines, pricing models, and market-entry approaches, ideally within a technology-led, innovative, or start-up environment. Knowledge of sterile insect techniques or other innovative vector control technologies is highly desirable. Be a credible and persuasive communicator who can effectively engage community stakeholders, mosquito control district boards, healthcare and public health leaders, and federal officials. Demonstrate strong commercial judgment, negotiation skills, persistence, and the ability to turn complex opportunities into sustainable business partnerships. Be proactive, resourceful, and comfortable creating processes and commercial strategies in an evolving environment where established playbooks may not yet exist. Demonstrate resilience, urgency, adaptability, and a collaborative approach when working across an international and multidisciplinary organization. Be comfortable adapting working patterns when needed to support colleagues, customers, and partners across different time zones. Professional-level Spanish is an advantage. Hold a BA/BS degree or equivalent; an MBA, MPH, or degree in entomology, biology, public health, or a related field is beneficial. Be based in Florida or another region with demonstrated professional experience in Florida, be legally authorized to work in the United States, and be willing to travel extensively across the country as required. Benefits: Senior commercial leadership opportunity with direct responsibility for U.S. market growth and revenue development. Opportunity to shape emerging vector control markets and contribute to innovative public health programs addressing mosquito-borne disease risks. High-impact work at the intersection of public health, biosecurity, technology, science, and government. Exposure to senior stakeholders across mosquito control districts, public health organizations, government agencies, professional associations, and strategic partners. Opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams spanning commercial, policy, science, technology, regulatory, and operations. Dynamic, international, and mission-driven working environment with significant autonomy and ownership. Opportunity to help influence the adoption and commercialization of next-generation vector control technologies across the United States. Full-time, remote role with Florida-based market responsibility and extensive U.S. travel.
