Overview
Eligible applicants from Mozambique can apply for Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships for full-time one-year taught master’s study at an approved UK university beginning in 2027.
Complete scholarship details
The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission lists Mozambique among the eligible countries for the 2027/28 Master’s programme. The scholarship covers approved tuition fees and approved return airfare, and pays a living stipend of £1,712 per month or £2,000 per month for scholars at universities in the London metropolitan area at current rates. It also provides a study-travel grant and may provide additional qualifying family or disability support under programme rules.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be citizens of, or hold qualifying refugee status in, an eligible Commonwealth country and be permanently resident in an eligible country. They must be available to start UK study in September 2027, normally hold at least a 2:1 first degree or a lower second-class degree plus a relevant postgraduate qualification, be unable to afford UK study without the scholarship, and provide the required supporting documents. The programme funds one-year taught master’s degrees and does not fund MBAs. Applicants must apply through CSC Central and also through an eligible nominator.
Tips for this scholarship
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
- Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
- Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
- Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
Verification notes
Verified on the current official Commonwealth Scholarship Commission page. The 2027/28 call is open, Mozambique is explicitly listed as eligible, and the CSC closing time is 16:00 BST on 20 October 2026, equivalent to 15:00 UTC. The CSC also states that nominees may face separate nominator processes and deadlines.
