This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Communications Officer | Video & Social Media Content Producer based in France. Join a mission-driven climate innovation environment working to accelerate the transition to net-zero emissions by 2050. In this role, you will transform complex research, technical insights, and policy developments into compelling digital stories that inform and engage audiences. You will take ownership of video production and social media content, with a particular focus on YouTube and LinkedIn. Working closely with communications professionals, climate analysts, and policy experts, you will develop accessible content that makes important innovations easier to understand. You will combine creative storytelling with audience analytics to strengthen digital reach, test new formats, and continuously improve performance. This primarily remote, full-time opportunity includes occasional travel across Europe to film interviews, events, and industrial sites.
Editorial planning and publishing: Maintain the editorial calendar in collaboration with the Head of Communications, aligning content plans and publishing workflows with research releases, events, and organizational priorities. Social media content creation: Draft, adapt, and publish engaging posts for priority channels, particularly YouTube and LinkedIn, tailoring messaging and formats to different audiences. Content coordination: Work with technical experts and colleagues to secure accurate reviews and editorial approvals, and coordinate content collaborations with external partners. Video production and editing: Develop engaging video explainers and social media videos from concept to completion, including story outlines, scripts, interviews, filming, and post-production. Audio, captions, and graphics: Ensure high-quality audio, accurate captions, and appropriate visual elements, collaborating with designers when necessary. Content adaptation and repurposing: Turn existing research, interviews, event recordings, and footage into shorter videos and other platform-specific digital content. Creative experimentation: Test different storytelling approaches, formats, hooks, titles, thumbnails, and distribution strategies to increase audience engagement and content discoverability. Performance analysis: Monitor viewing data, audience feedback, and social media trends to evaluate results and refine future content. Paid promotion: Support occasional paid social media campaigns within agreed plans and budgets. Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with communications colleagues, analysts, and policy specialists to translate complex climate, technology, and innovation topics into accurate, accessible stories. Requirements: A strong portfolio of social media video content demonstrating your ability to manage the full production process, from initial idea and filming through editing and publishing. Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent video editing software, including audio editing, captioning, and adapting content for multiple formats. Confident filming and interviewing skills, including the ability to capture clear, usable sound on location and help subject-matter experts communicate effectively. Strong storytelling instincts and an understanding of pacing, titles, thumbnails, and other elements that influence audience attention and engagement. Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly, accurately, and engagingly. Experience working with experts to translate complex research and technical subjects into accessible digital content. Working knowledge of social media publishing, community management, and basic analytics. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines, editorial workflows, and approvals within an international team. Genuine interest in climate action, clean technology, innovation, and the transition to net-zero emissions. Relevant experience gained through employment, freelance assignments, or independently produced projects. Additional advantages: Experience creating science, technology, or policy explainers; familiarity with paid social media promotion; experience using Hootsuite, Meltwater, or similar publishing and monitoring tools; proficiency in additional languages; and basic graphic design skills. Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe for filming at events, interviews, and industrial sites. Applicants should submit a CV, a short cover letter, and links to three examples of digital content they have created, including at least two videos. Each example should include a description of their contribution, intended audience and platform, and results or lessons learned, limited to 200 words per example. AI-generated videos are not accepted as portfolio examples. Benefits: Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Applicable allowances, including post adjustment. Primarily remote working arrangements. Full-time employment preferred, with the possibility of an 80% working arrangement subject to an agreed production and publishing schedule. An initial two-year contract, with the intention to extend thereafter. Preferred starting date of January 2027. Occasional European travel, providing opportunities to film at events, conduct interviews, and visit industrial sites. The opportunity to make complex climate and clean technology topics more accessible to wider audiences. Meaningful work supporting innovation and public policy efforts aimed at accelerating emissions reductions and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Collaboration with an international, multidisciplinary team working across several European countries.
