*Internship period: 4 Jan 2027 - 30 June 2027.
Would you like to be part of the AWS Internship Program, helping us build and run the infrastructure behind Amazon Web Services? Are you curious about how a data center keeps its power and cooling running around the clock? Do you want to apply what you have learned in control systems, mechanical and electrical engineering to real, live infrastructure?
Cloud computing is changing how the world uses technology. Since 2006, AWS has provided companies of all sizes with an infrastructure web services platform in the cloud. On this AWS Internship Program you will take on real projects, build skills you can use from day one, and be encouraged to build and innovate. You will be a supported member of our internship community, with access to mentoring, coaching and other learning opportunities.
Key job responsibilities As a Controls Engineering Intern, you will work alongside our engineers in Singapore on live data centers and new builds. You will learn how a control philosophy becomes a working system: how sensors, controllers and sequences of operation keep chillers, air handlers and electrical switchgear running safely. Your work will include:
- Reviewing points lists and sequences of operation against design documents
- Helping build and track digital inspection and testing checklists
- Analysing alarm and trend data to find recurring issues and their root causes
- Keeping technical records, such as as-built drawings and test documents, accurate and current
- Supporting small automation and tooling projects that save the team time
You will need curiosity, attention to detail, and the confidence to ask questions and speak up when something does not look right. No prior data center experience is required. We will teach you the systems. We are looking for solid fundamentals and a willingness to learn.
About the team The AWS Data Center Controls Deployment & Services team (CDS) sits within the Data Center Capacity Delivery (DCCD) organization. CDS delivers and supports the control systems that monitor and run power and cooling in AWS data centers, including Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS). Our Controls Engineers come from electrical, mechanical and software backgrounds. Together we design, deploy, test and support these systems from construction through to live operation, so our customers' workloads stay available.
