Job Description

What you'll build

  • Drive forward deployed engineering and automation within TCC — identify, prioritize, and lead automation initiatives across controlling processes, combining AI-driven and classical approaches.

  • Translate complex Finance domain requirements — including cross-process dependencies and exception scenarios — into structured, implementation-ready specifications for technical partners.

  • Develop reusable automation standards and playbooks to prevent redundant solutions and drive consistency across recurring process patterns in TCC.

  • Co-drive end-to-end process design and data quality improvements in close partnership with Controlling teams, CPIT, and adjacent Finance functions.

  • Advance the broader TCC Transformation — create structures that shift more capacity toward working on the process, and generate measurable value for Field Finance as TCC's key customer.

  • Manage cross-functional alignment and communicate progress and trade-offs clearly at senior and Executive level.

What you bring

Required

  • Degree in Business Administration or a comparable field.

  • 8+ years of professional experience within SAP or a comparable global organization, with a track record across Finance, Controlling, or closely adjacent strategic functions.

  • First-hand experience in commercial Finance or field-facing roles — e.g. CFO Office, strategic deal management, or Field Finance support. Understanding of how TCC's internal customers operate is a key differentiator for this role.

  • AI-first working style: active practitioner of AI-augmented workflows; hands-on experience with Joule Work Desktop, AI-assisted development (e.g. Cloud Code / Vibe Coding), and automation tooling such as Power Automate.

  • Solid understanding of SAP's key Finance KPIs and Cloud business model — Cloud Revenue, cost structures, and the interplay between commercial and financial metrics.

  • Outstanding communication skills with a proven track record of engaging and influencing at C-Suite and Executive Board level.

  • Well-established cross-functional network within SAP; ability to drive results and alignment without direct authority across a complex, matrixed organization.

  • Excellent command of both English and German, written and oral — required.

Preferred

  • Background in Controlling or Finance operations; familiarity with how SAP's Controlling processes connect to business outcomes, even without deep operational exposure.

  • Experience initiating and delivering automation or process improvement projects — including self-driven, day-to-day efficiency improvements.

  • Background in software development or scripting (e.g. Python, low-code/no-code platforms) — a technical development mindset is a clear advantage.

  • Familiarity with requirements engineering or structured business case development.

Where you belong

You will join the Topline & Customer Controlling (TCC) organization within Global Finance at SAP. TCC acts as a business partner to Field Finance and commercial stakeholders — translating finance processes into operational excellence and stewarding SAP's topline controlling agenda. This role sits at the intersection of Finance expertise and forward-deployed automation: you will help TCC move from working in processes to actively designing, improving, and automating them — driving structural efficiency that scales across the organization.
