Work hard, have fun and make history with Amazon's legal team. We are looking for an experienced attorney to help manage Amazon’s labor relations issues throughout the US and Canada.

Responsibilities include providing practical advice and counseling regarding general labor relations issues such as those relating to NLRB investigations and litigation, concerted employee activity, union organizing campaigns, compliance issues and other similar traditional labor law issues.

Responsibilities also include managing government agency investigations, related litigation, and proactive training, as well as the assessment, selection, and supervision of outside counsel. This position will work actively with internal clients in the Employee Relations and Human Resources Department and requires the ability to travel when necessary.

This position reports to the Associate General Counsel, Labor & Employee Relations.

Key job responsibilities Provide practical advice and counseling on labor relations issues, including concerted employee activity, union organizing campaigns, and compliance Manage NLRB investigations and litigation, as well as government agency investigations and related legal matters Lead proactive training on labor relations topics Assess, select, and supervise outside counsel Partner with employee relations and human resources teams to deliver actionable guidance

A day in the life Your primary focus is advising on labor relations matters across the US and Canada. On any given day, you might be counseling on a union organizing campaign, managing an NLRB investigation, or preparing proactive training for business partners. You'll collaborate closely with employee relations and human resources teams, and travel as needed to support operations.

About the team

You'll be joining Amazon's legal team, where attorneys provide practical counsel on labor relations matters across the United States and Canada. The team works closely with employee relations and human resources partners, advising on a broad range of legal challenges and delivering proactive training and guidance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
  • 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience
  • Experience with labor/employee relations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Can show strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
  • Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilities
  • Experience with complex NLRB litigation, response to union organizing campaigns and generally providing traditional labor advice
  • Experience with large hourly populations is preferred
  • Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and computer skills

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
