This is a fully remote customs operations role supporting high-volume ecommerce and parcel-level clearance across Canada. You will prepare and review customs documentation, process entries, determine duties and taxes, and ensure shipments comply with applicable customs requirements. The role combines detailed operational work with frequent communication across clients, carriers, freight forwarders, customs authorities, and internal teams. You will help resolve complex clearance issues while maintaining accurate records and meeting time-sensitive service requirements. Working within a technology-enabled environment, you will also support modern automated brokerage workflows and ecommerce clearance solutions. This is an opportunity to build your customs expertise within a fast-moving, collaborative environment where learning, ownership, and continuous improvement are highly valued.

Independently review and prepare customs documentation for processing and entry releases, ensuring files are complete, accurate, and compliant with applicable policies and regulations. Process B3/CAD customs entries in accordance with Canadian and applicable U.S. customs compliance standards, and correct rejected Canadian customs entries when required. Determine appropriate duties, taxes, and HS tariff classifications while ensuring accurate processing and documentation for each shipment. Respond to internal and external inquiries by phone, email, Slack, or other designated communication channels, providing clear and timely support to clients and stakeholders. Communicate effectively with clients, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), carriers, freight forwarders, partners, and other relevant parties to facilitate smooth customs clearance. Maintain detailed transaction notes, instructions, client information, and database records, ensuring information remains accurate and up to date. Prioritize workloads and consistently meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail. Independently investigate and resolve challenging customs and operational situations, proactively researching solutions and escalating issues when appropriate. Support commercial activities by assisting the sales team and identifying opportunities to cross-sell relevant customs and brokerage services. Contribute to the adoption of technology-enabled clearance workflows, including ecommerce parcel-level processing and automated brokerage tools. Maintain professional knowledge by completing relevant examinations, certifications, conferences, training, and other industry development activities. Collaborate across brokerage and technology teams to improve operational processes, knowledge sharing, and the overall customer experience. Requirements: Bring 1–3 years of hands-on experience in a customs brokerage environment, with experience processing shipments across multiple modes of transportation. Hold a diploma or degree in a relevant field; post-secondary education or business courses related to customs, logistics, or international trade are considered an advantage. Possess a CCS designation or another relevant industry certification; an LCB designation is considered an asset. Have experience with CANdata or similar customs brokerage systems; familiarity with technology-enabled clearance platforms is an advantage. Demonstrate strong knowledge of customs documentation, B3/CAD entries, HS tariff classification, duties and taxes, and Canadian customs compliance requirements. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate professionally with clients, customs authorities, carriers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders. Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a high level of ownership over assigned work. Be resourceful and proactive, with strong problem-solving abilities and a determination to find effective solutions to unfamiliar or challenging situations. Be comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and time-sensitive transactions. Be self-motivated, dependable, flexible, and adaptable, with a positive, solutions-oriented attitude and willingness to continuously learn. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and contribute effectively as part of a collaborative team. Have strong computer and software skills and be comfortable learning new digital tools and workflows. Have professional proficiency in English; French, Spanish, Cantonese, or Mandarin language skills are considered an asset. Be available to work a rolling schedule that includes day, evening, and rotating weekend shifts, with weekend work typically required every second weekend. Reside and work within Canada; candidates located in Eastern Canada are preferred to support time-zone alignment. Benefits: 100% remote, full-time position for candidates residing and working within Canada. Competitive compensation package with health and dental benefits. RRSP contribution program. Tuition reimbursement opportunities to support continued learning and professional development. Professional training and opportunities to maintain and expand customs industry expertise. Paid time off. Company-provided IT equipment required to perform the role remotely. Predictable rotating schedule with advance planning across day and evening shifts. Opportunity to work within a technology-enabled customs environment supporting ecommerce and high-volume parcel clearance.
