Iraq’s Ministry of Higher Education is directing eligible non-employees to DAAD’s Development-Related Postgraduate Courses (EPOS) for master’s and, exceptionally, doctoral study in Germany.

The current DAAD EPOS programme funds selected development-related postgraduate courses in Germany for graduates from developing and newly industrialised countries with professional experience. Current DAAD benefits include EUR 992 per month for graduate-level recipients and EUR 1,400 per month for doctoral candidates beginning February 2026, insurance payments and a travel allowance; rent and family allowances may be available in some circumstances. The Iraqi Ministry’s current call also identifies full tuition exemption and directs applicants to the DAAD programme and the Iraqi scholarship portal.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants typically need a relevant bachelor’s degree, above-average academic results, at least two years of related professional experience, development-related motivation and the language proficiency required by the selected course. The Iraqi Ministry’s current announcement is for non-employees. Each participating postgraduate course sets its own application deadline and may add course-specific requirements.
